Such a min-maxed result.
What is it about?
Shape Shifter (sic) is a simple shape-matching game where you can shift the flow of your inner energy to defeat creatures. More importantly, it is a game that will change the shape of your expectation about the game itself! (I had quite some fun with the meta description)
Background
My objective for this LD was to learn and practice pixel arting, something I never, ever did before. Not that squares are bad; But hey, the more skillset you have, the better! However, I was stuck during most of the first day, unable to get any idea to work with. Yeah, what do you expect, doing this for the first time. Listen, self. Your drawing is shit and will always be sh- hey, waaaiiiit…. And there goes the idea.
What went wrong?
- I basically had to work with a very simple gameplay and innovation in order to compensate for the (lack of) artsiness.
- The concept itself only works because it’s an LD entry, but not quite so for an actual game. It leaves no space for future development.
What went right?
- frist gaem w/ homemade pixel artz, omgz0rz!
- For better or worse, the game’s simplicity left it with no glaring weaknesses to criticize on.
- Nothing else.
Thanks for all who have played and rated the game!
