Making progress after a late start

We’re back for our third Ludum Dare. “You are the Villain” is a theme where it’s somewhat difficult to come up with an original idea. Add to that a programmer who sleeps through his alarm clock and we have a late start.

But we managed to plough through the first obvious ideas to come up with a concept that is already taken shape.


For they are just a few pills in a cool environment, but have some patience and magic will be happening!

Basic gameplay finished

After a long day of working hard and hardly working, basic gameplay is finished. Towers attack each other, you can build up your tower and you can upgrade your tower.

Fight! Fight! Fight!

Now we need to add a somewhat intelligent AI, polish the UI, add 2 player functionality and most important add sound. Hoping to finish this evening. I need to go into work tomorrow.

Good evening/night ladies and gents!

We’re nearing the end of our first run. Time to show something more than colored blocks!












This is what our art’s going to look like.
In this game you’ll have the chance to battle a friend (or CPU) in a race to the heavens while you build and evolve your own Tower of Babel. You’ll end up progressing through several time periods while you build higher to the sky and beyond! But beware, your opponent can destroy parts of your tower by shooting it away piece by piece and stop you from getting there.

So will you rush to the clouds or will you crush your neighbour? It’s up to you decide how you’ll win.

First progress report

We’re a couple Belgians working on our second game. Previous Ludum Dare we finished 6th in the Theme(Jam) category. This time we aim higher!

After a long brainstorming session and a couple of hours of coding, we’ve got our first prototype.
