Hello!

I’m in again as long as I get time to do it!

Engine: Unity.

Graphics: Blender and GIMP. I’ve actually sorted out how to do 3D now. That should save a lot of time.

Audio: Audacity? LMMS? BFXR? It depends on what I need on the day.

I’m all done. Made a sequel to a game I made a few years ago.

I made it in Unity, with Bfxr for the sound effects, and LMMS for the crap music. :)

I’m in again. No idea what I want to do, but I need to severely limit my scope, as I also have to do Dad stuff and recover from being at work all week.

My goal therefore is to just get to the point where I can submit something that’s technically a working game!

In again. I’ve got the house to myself on this weekend for the first time in 4 years.

Stuff:

Game engine/framework: Probably either Phaser or Unity. Or Inform 7 or Twine if the mood takes me. Or something else entirely.

Graphics: Probably GIMP. Maybe Blender if I’m feeling masochistic. HEY, I might use Deluxe Paint if I can be bothered getting it running.

Audio: Probably the usual suspects. bfxr, LMMS, Audacity, fart noises into a microphone, etc.

Encouraged by the fact that I actually managed to submit something last time, I’ll be having a go again this time. (As long as there are no disasters with my children to deal with.)

Framework: This time, I’ll either be using Unity 5, as I’ve been practicing with it a little, or I’ll fall back to Phaser if it all goes South.

Graphics: Unity’s built in stuff, GIMP, and possibly Blender if I’m feeling masochistic.

Audio: bfxr, of course. Audacity. LMMS for music if I get that far.

Or I might just chuck all that in and make a text adventure with Inform 7. WHO KNOWS?

Hello again,

I’ve had to crash out of the last two LDs due to Dad Duty, but once again, I’ll have a go at doing something.

I’ll probably have to go super-simple this time due to time constraints.

Likely Tools:

  • Phaser
  • GIMP
  • bfxr / Audacity

I’m going to do my first Ludum Dare!

I’m relatively new to game development, so I’m treating this like a game dev boot camp. If nothing else, I’ll have a bunch of mistakes to learn from.

As I have a toddler and a new baby in the house, my free time is extremely limited, so I may end up doing this for the jam instead, but I’m going to give it a go.

Tools (Subject to change):

  • Engine: Either Unity or LÖVE, depending on the theme. I’d prefer to use Unity as that’s what I’m currently learning.
  • Graphics: Blender for 3D, The GIMP and/or Inkscape for 2D.
  • Audio:
    • Effects: bfxr and Audacity.
    • Music: Probably LMMS if I have time.

I’ll also make a tumblr or something to chart my progress. Along with the usual vines, tweets, etc.
