I invited friends over for a weekend of pure fun. I’ll be entering the jam and using these tools:

IDE: Visual Studio 2013 Community Edition
Language: C#
Graphics: Opengl (OpenTK)
Other Libraries:
Lidgren for networking,
Images: Paint.NET
I’ll also be using my own little WIP game library which can be found here : https://github.com/Phyyl/PhyylsGameLibrary

Hey guys, I’m really happy to be free this weekend! Last LD was not so successful, I was using Java+LWJGL and didn’t feel comfortable with the tools. Here are the tools I’ll be using this time:

IDE : Visual Studio 2013
Language : C# 5.0 in .Net 4.5 (Windows), Mono (Linux)
Graphics library : OpenTK + OpenTKUtil
Graphics : Paint.Net
Audio library : OpenAL
Audio : SFXR and FamiTracker
Streaming : XSplit

Good luck everyone, have fun 😀

PS : Let me know if you ever come across someone who would like to eventually do a real-life gathering in Quebec (CAN), I would certainly be part of the project.

What about a real world gathering?

I live close to Montreal in Canada, QC and I’d like to make a real world gathering for my first LD. I’d like to know if anyone is interested, and if so, I’ll prepare something! Let me know :)

This will be my second attempt at finishing a ludum dare event. I tried last time but I had to stop because of school obligations! This time I’m ready and I planned everything.

I’ll be using Java as my programming language, because you can get a result fast, and it’s easily ported to web! I’m also going to do everything from the Java’s standard libraries (AWT mainly…). For the sound, I’ll use sfxr and for making my sprites, Paint.Net. It’s also going to be a 2D game because I don’t have the knowledge to make a 3D game fast enough!

Last but not least, I’ll be streaming the entire time through my twitch channel and I might put this stream on my website and link it (www.oboolt.com). This website is fresh new so it might be empty while I’m building it locally ;P .

Good luck everyone, I’ll see you in december!

Hey everyone, I’m in!

This is my first time and first attempt. I was going to use Visual C# Express with XNA 4.0, but after finding out that XNA will never be updated again, I fell it’s my time to swith to Java for good. I loved C#, but Java is mutliplatform and has a really similar syntax! Anyways, here’s what I’ll be using :

IDE/Language : Eclipse (Java)
Engine : Slick2D & LWJGL
Graphics : Paint.NET
Sound : SFXR
Music : My own guitar (might be something else depending on inspiration)

Also I’m gonna be streaming almost the entire thing (I’m planning on sleeping a little bit), so here’s the link : Twitch.tv/PixelNationStudios

Edit: Just wanted to point out that Java is fairly new for me and I learned how to use Slick2D on thursday! Not going to be easy doh…
