14 year old programmer/composer from Hungary.
I am having some problems with vertical syncing in my game. I set Display.setVSyncEnabled(true); before the display creation, after it, but nothing really helps. Is there any other alternative to vertical syncing? It’s really annoying and barely playable with this amount of disruption.
EDIT: This apparently only happens with low grade graphics cards.
I realised that writing something from scratch again is taking me 9999 years. I’ll use a premade engine of mine instead.
Is that allowed to be published in the competition or I should publish it later to the jam? Engine has no levels, any content just the basic functions.
I will probably participate in the competition but I’m not entirely sure if I should use an already existing engine or write a new one.
I’ll most likely start something from scratch, though.
For development I use:
- Programming language: Java
- Extensions: LWJGL & Slick2D
- Enviroment: Eclipse
- Art: Paint.NET
- Levels: TilED
- Music: Ableton Live
- Sound effects: SFXR and several other sources
