This time i learned Blender, being a programmer this is a challenging one. Made around 6-10 models for the game and used 6 of them finally in the game.

Able to complete game design, models, Menu flow on end of day 01, Feeling slow progress..

Game Idea:

Ancient Indian civilization is so advanced in science, medicine, maths and even space travel.
Ancient Indians have fought them equally when Aliens attacked a city in India. Now that city is submerged under sea.
You use with this ancient technology to fight incoming Aliens.

What you guys think of this i idea and art?

What do you guys think of basic models created by me for the game? Enemies at top player at bottom.

Being programmer i am doing full fledged 3d model now only using Blender.

After developing some indie games with various engines. I am having some know how to use only freeware and open source to develop the full games.

Thanks to the game dev community for making such thing possible with their awesome tools and contribution

So my weapons for this jam are

Engine: Godot (learning else jump to libgdx/unity2d)

Concept + design : Inkscape

Art: Inkscape + paint.net

Art bg : Blender (learning )

Audio : LMMS + BFXR + Audacity [also looking for some royalty free]

Tiles : Tiled [if needed by game]

concept : will try to include physics in 2d(no to 3D for this time) environment, but lets see what remains after Theme slaughter and voting

Team-Up : I am programmer so interested to team up with artists. Let me know, if anyone interested to team up with me @paruthidotexe

hi all, it is my on the fourth time for ludumdare with score of 2 complete and one miss.

Hope this time i will finish the game..

Tools chains planned

Krita, paint.net, Blender, Lmms, Audacity

Game engine i am going to decide based on the which game i am developing. Choices are Unity for 3D ; libGdx or Phaser for 2D games.

This time based on my theme choice ie if it is a multiplayer game then i will use NodeJS for my game. NodeJS and Phaser are new for me, it will be like learning on developing.

Also i am looking for artist, if any one interested ping @paruthidotexe

October challenge : Halloween Graveyard Ride

Yep, since it is oct i choose the halloween theme for the game. This is the thrill ride where you manipulate the speed of character and ride along the spooky graveyard.

And also released it on oct 31 to android market as ” HALLOWEEN GRAVEYARD RIDE

Not having enough budgets to buy apple devices :-(

This will be my second time.. had a great experience in  LD32.

As usual i will use the open source or free tools only and also use this as opportunity to learn a new thing..

This time i am planning to give a shot to libgdx, if i am able to study before the starting bell rings.. else fall back to Unity

so far to see the libgdx is cool.. after working in Unity for about a year, i miss editor support for libgdx…

Anyhow.. i will be there for the party..

LDJAM First time experience

First of all thanks to the guys who had made this e = i formulae possible. GAME LINK

Six hours before start i am lying in bed going to sleep just doing the fb, suddenly i saw the post 6hrs to go for the JAM. I had nothing installed in my system and not ready since added new HDD, the OS is fresh. First thing created account with the ludumdare.com and analysed what tools and game engine i am going to use and went to sleep.

Woke up 30 minutes before and started downloading, installing and setup everything from unity5, obs, ffsplit, MagicaVoxel, inkscape, to updating graphics drivers. And creating a/c in twitch and other sites for video streaming. But nothing worked and after 1 hour of struggle figured out my bandwidth is the issue (only 1 mbps ).

I felt too much pressure as i did this alone. Had to drop some game play mechanics and had to go with simple and quickly created arts doing all this missing compo deadline hurt me a lot.

Lot of good people in irc helping each other for the gaming community. I will play as many possible JAM games and give my feedback.

From my experience this time is for a successful JAM you have to make quick decisions and proper understanding of yourself. Drop a feature, have a feature if time permits, spending some time on Game design.

Though not happy with the output after 72hrs, i have learnt a lot since this is my first experience. To say it simple i am returning to normal world now only, with all my clothes to wash and clean the house and throw out the pizza boxes and food parcels..

Will be back with more power for the next time.. 😉  Time 2 sleep like Zoro

Tried for Compo but finished with jam only.. here is the final video of my game “e=i formuale”
