Programmer Looking for a Jam Partner

Hi there, fellow Ludum Dare enthusiasts. Last year I was working with a jam crew and we called ourselves the Ghost Pixels. We made some cool stuff and even published one of our games (Black Square) to the Ouya as a free title. However, this year I’m on my own, and since I’m a programmer, I am struggling to get game jams done without the input of a skilled artist.

If you’re a sprite artist or graphical designer looking to do some Ludum Dare projects (and perhaps even other jams), give me a shout and let’s see if we work well together. Anything we would make would be released for free and you would retain all control over your own work, so you can reuse it for future projects or whatever you see fit.

I work in either Flash Develop with Texture Packer and Ogmo, or with the free version of Unity, but I am also interested in MonoGame and other game development options. I’m flexible about work flow and open to collaborating on practically any genre of game, provided it is small enough for a game jam of course.

If this sounds like a gig you’re interested in, you can leave a comment or better yet email me,

Don’t worry, it’s not my good email address. :)

Sorry if I am slow to respond.

Let’s Do This!!

I’m in!  Second jam, first time solo, will be using FlashDevelop + Starling.  Starting bare and hoping to make something RPG-like, which I realize is ambitious for a jam.

Can you rescue the famous minimalist painting “The Black Square” from the nefarious clutches of Stalin’s censorship dungeon?  Experience the hot Cold War action!

Dragonhead – Flash / Starling Toolkit

For anyone interested, I am providing a link to the Google Code project for “Dragonhead,” a Starling-based toolkit for game development.

Development on this started for the Global Game Jam 2013 and was used in the game “Unafraid.”  Development is on-going and I plan to use this for LD #26.  It is provided under a Creative Commons license, so feel free to use any part of it.
