Third time in a row doing an LD, hoping to do well. Wasn’t too happy with the last game I made, hopefully I do better this time.
IDE: VS2013
Language: C#
Engine: Unity 4.6
Graphics: Photoshop, Aseprite
Soundtrack: this masterpiece right here, album on repeat, no items, final destination.
This is my second Ludum Dare, which I just can’t miss even though I’m in the middle of a personal project I really should be working on.
I am quite a bit more experienced with this toolset than I was last time, so hopefully I manage to get more stuff done this time!
These are the tools I’ll be using:
OS: Windows 8 x64
Engine: Unity
IDE: Visual Studio 2013 (using C#)
Graphics: Aseprite, GIMP
Organization: Trello
IRC Client: Quassel
I’ll be posting progress both here and on my Tumblr devblog, which is at http://omegavesko.tumblr.com/.
My first ever Ludum Dare entry – Many Robots, One Laser – is finished and submitted. I’m actually surprised at how nice and polished everything looks, since art is definitely not one of my strong points. I’m sure Unity’s great animation system had a large part in it as well.
Anyway, it didn’t take me too much brainstorming to get the ‘one bullet’ theme, and it looks like I’m far from the only one that went with it. Initially I wanted to make the enemy bots shoot at you as well, but I decided to go with a more puzzle-ish feel instead.
Also, it seems I’m not very good at playing my own game. 😛 The farthest I’ve made it was Wave 7, I think. I’m waiting to see if anyone can manage to get a full grid.
