What an awesome weekend. Thanks to those of you who kept tabs on my game and gave me support.

HERE IS TWIZARDS: http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-32/?action=preview&uid=20603

Here’s the comp-finished product:

It was a lot of fun to work on, even if it’s a bit lacking in available gameplay. I’m definitely pleased with the visual style.

I’ll definitely write a postmortem tommorow, I’m completely beat. Can’t wait to play all your games!

Gameplay? No. Tweens? Hell yes.

I worked on tweening all my movement/rotation so the characters don’t just pop into position. Problem is that none of these things actually do anything game related, so I should probably fix that here at the 4 hour mark.

Made some colorful spells while not actually working on my game.

I added some small details to make these wizards more…  wizardy.

Also note that aside from the hat/beard, all the shapes in my scene so far are just Unity primitives. I’ve seen a lot of people shy away from 3D when it comes to these jams, but even a 3D noob can put together things really quickly with just boxes and spheres. And I think there’s a nice aesthetic to it!

Just wanted to share some initial progress. The original mockup I made, and the actual in-engine  version I’ve done so far.

My LD30 submission: Lonely Planet

Hey everyone! I managed to finish something!

I’m horrified that it’s going to be too broken for people to play, but I figured if people play it I’ll be able to fix their problems.

Even if the game is kind-of missing, I hope you can enjoy it.

So here it is:

Lonely Planet – CLICK ME TO PLAY

You are a lonely robot on a lonely planet. Your planet is nothing but a weird material and some odd shapes. You are sad.

But one day, you notice a set of two buttons on the side of your screen. After experimenting with them, you are suddenly greeted by, to your disbelief, another robot! This robot is stuck on its planet, but you are close enough to talk. You talk to the robot about life, love, and how awesome Ludum Dare 30 was.

Eventually, this robot will leave, but it’s not too bad, you can use these buttons to speak to any robot in the universe!

Play and let me know what you think!

Can’t wait! Getting my new laptop ready with all my tools. Perfect timing too, I have the weekend off, most of my software just got updated (Unity 4.6 beta!), and I can feel that this one is going to be fantastic!

Considering I didn’t expect to even do anything, I’m surprised I kept at it this long.

I’ve learned a lot, but it was mostly useless stuff that I got caught up reading for fun.

I’ve finally settled on Unity, I have some UI in and I have my networking code set up. But I’m dead tired tonight so I’ll have to rush and do the brunt of the work tomorrow.

Here’s the current title screen.

Hello! I’m Nonameghost and, although I’ve participated in many jams, this is my first Ludum Dare.  It could be blamed on the “Oh that was last weekend?” syndrom caused by lack of twitter, but I’m finally here and prepared.

Here’s my workflow:

Engine: Unity (Under dire circumstances I could fall back to Love)

IDE: MonoDevelop, Sublime Text 2

Art: Inkscape, Paint.NET, GIMP, etc…

Sound: SunVox, BFXR, possible real guitar?

TwitchFeed: www.twitch.com/no_name_ghost

Twitter: @Nonameghost

Anyway, good luck everyone!
