When the gang awakes

After a good 6 hours of sleep, we are now slowly booting our brains and getting back into creative mode. I got music from our music guy, and we are very happy with how it turned out. Just some minor changes and the music is done.

After breakfast of egg and bacon, we sketched up a few more map ideas and assigned the remaining tasks. Due to real life we can not work together for more than a couple hours, so we need to get as much done in the remaining time.

Some of us will continue working this evening, and hopefully the result will be enjoyable :)

It is getting late and we have been at it for over 16 hours now. Stuff are taking shape, and a few are relaxing with a movie, while others are cracking along on getting the features sorted and bugs squished.

Sketch of the introduction level.

The size of the combined chronolapse is growing steadily. It will be a proper job to go through all of those images and make a timelapse out of it… But I hope that will be worth it :)

Some people are cooking, while others push on coding the game.2013-04-27 15.13.00

A proper dinner is something that helps the creative process, and provides time to think of something else than the issues with the game.

Our GFX-artist finished the concept art for the main character. I quite like it :)

We have gathered the team, and we are doing reparations for our entry at Ludum dare #26.

Last time (At Ludum Dare #23) we programmed in C# and XNA, but this time we will make an attempt at HaxePunk and Flash. The programming guys are getting started with frameworks and all that good stuff, while the rest of us keep our feet high and recharge our batteries to get ready.

We have gathered the same team as last time:

dj_pale – Code framework and game mechanics
Sudde Abrahamsson – Game mechanics and misc coding
Skurk – Music and sound effects
Plink – Graphics and animations
Notepid – Project management and all that stuff

Last time we used TFS for version control, since we used Visual Studio as IDE. That worked, but was quite the overkill for what we needed. This time we will use GIT with SparkleShare as an overlay to ease the commit process for asset makers. We could have used Dropbox for this, but I do not want to waste my quota :-P

For project management we are going to use Trello. Its a nice, and free, web based tool for organizing stuff. I guess not everyone on the team will be using that tool, but from a project management aspect its a nice and easy tool to keep basic tracking of tasks.

We have a few nifty ideas for what we are going to make, but that, of course, depends heavily on the theme we get.
