Game submitted! Pressure (a submarine sim + time management game)

Hi friends! In our team we don’t belive it, but the game is done! This game is a bit FTL, a bit puzzle and a bit time management.

pressure_screen2

The game isn’t easy (at least the first time), but we hope that the game is enjoyable and the player wanna play it again, because we have work really hard to make it replayable. The game events are random and the player have more than one decision to overcome them.

The major problem is that we needed a bit more of time, and the game has suffered of lack of feedback with the player. Hopefully this problem doesn’t harm your experience.

You can play it here.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaah… we didn’t have any idea about what to do. But finally the inspiration came to us.

We’re making a game about a man with only got an axe…

We’re in again, but not with a 2D game… we hope develop a 3D game using Unity (i know, a lot of people use Unity… i know…).

But if the theme inspired us with a great 2D idea… well… i can’t promise anything.

Post-Mortem Whodunit

Nezzhil’s post-mortem

My first post-mortem. I’m not a man of great words… but i’ll try to tell all my thoughts. 😀

What went right:

  • The game was completed with all the content.
  • Shaders, lights, concept… all mixed is better than we thought. :)
  • Art and music. TaxisDude do a work incredible. I’m pleased to work with him.

What went wrong:

  • The scope of the game do impossible cut without break the gameplay. We had a lot of stress when time passed and still was not playable the second day.
  • The bugs fixed today and yesterday. I hate publish anything with bugs.  I hope everybody download the good version
  • The game is harder than i prefer… the 10 seconds limit are a bit… extreme…

What I learned:

  • I improved my skills designing shaders. The shadow, light and all the stuff with shaders is very fast to do and i’m very proud of the results.
  • How the big could be and adventure game.  Oh my…!
  • My english is worst that i think.

I don’t know if my brother will do or edit  the postmortem… I hope he’ll do.

Edit by TaxisDude: Yeah, if you tell me that… 😉

TaxisDude’s post-mortem

My first post-mortem too. I will talk almost only about things related with the graphics, because was my part of the job, and I don’t want to repear the same things that Nezzhil.

What went right:

  • Finally, a finished game without discarted features!
  • I think that I don’t went wrong with the art style. And was really funny drawing the 20 little characters and give them his own personality with the stand, talking and death animations. I’m really pround of it.
  • I have a better (not too much) english than my brother, ha ha 😉

What went wrong:

  • I draw sprites a bit slow because I’m still learning and I’m very picky with my own work and I have some problems with the time. So, the saturday night the programmer helped me with the HUD, the main menu and finish some things of the mansion to have all the graphics drawn before the time limit. At least, the last day he could return to continue his part of the work. Sorry to steal your time!
  • We have so little time for the sound effects… At least the music go reasonably well.
  • We didn’t have the time to fine tune some aspects about the hud, so it’s a bit inconsistent.

Thanks a lot everybody for feeback, the comments and finding bugs.

Whodunit finished!!!

Finally we finished the game… we’re exhausted now but very happy for the results. The bugs flood the last hours and the last screens were so heavy to do… but now we developed our first adventure game. 😀

I think that the game is a little hard, impossible to win your first try but I know that with perseverance you’ll get an high score. :)

I hope you  you enjoy it.

Tomorrow i’ll try to do the post-mortem.

Only 9 hours left…

WAAAAAAAAA!!!

Yesterday was a horrible day. A lots of bugs, a lot of drawings, a lot of work… But now the gameplay is finished and we are polishing the Menu, the mansion and the end game screen. I hope we could have time to do a good work with the audio.
