Hi there,
Here’s another one for my Neil Creates series where I recreate the dice mechanics of Dice Hunter. It’s a great game!
This is a series where I try to recreate some assets, art style, gameplay mechanics, and other components and/or elements that make up other games. I also share some techniques and best practices that I learned so far while recreating previous works of art. Enjoy!

Hi there,

Now that LudumDare 39 is just around the corner, I would like to share a new series that I’m currently working on.

It’s a series where I try to recreate some assets, art style, gameplay mechanics, and other components and/or elements that make up other games. I also share some techniques and best practices that I learned so far while recreating previous works of art. Enjoy!

The First Ever…

HiΒ there, Ludum Dare!

I would like to share the unboxing of the first ever Filipino-made video game, Anito: Defend a Land Enraged. It’s an adventure game with lots of RPG elements (plus an eat and sleep system). It won an award back then with its innovative audio design. Anito also sparked the whole video game industry in the Philippines. I’m sharing this because maybe we can get a few things from Anito and incorporate it with our own games.

I’ll also be putting up a gameplay video soon, so be sure to hit that subscribe button and stay tuned! πŸ˜€

Please do tell me what you think in the comments below, thank you LD Community! πŸ˜‰

Do not go gentle…

Hi there!

Here’s another artwork πŸ˜‰Β I was supposed to make a model of a woman wearing winter attire then I remembered Dylan Thomas. Yep, it was weird. So, I decided to create an old man going gentle into that goodnight…

Hi there!

Have you ever felt being cornered or frustrated because you feel like someone already did what you’re doing? Well, I know that feeling and what I do is I look at other unique games out there and figure out how they did it. Then, maybe, I can look at other things in another perspective just like they did. Here are some of the games that thought outside the box to immerse us with unique and innovative gameplay. Enjoy! :)

Just a thought, what if we were asked to make a timelapse before making the game itself? since, the theme is reversed? O.o haha

Anyways, I just want to share the first part of my timelapse series in making the Adventures of Esrever Wild, my entry to the miniLD 57 πŸ˜€

It’s been fun and challenging, this miniLD, and I want to know what you guys think πŸ˜€

Pre-postmortem? pre-moretem? post-mortem? – MiniLD57

This MiniLD was challenging, fun, confusing and many more, all at the same time.

With that being said, I tried to push myself to my limits in order to further improve, since this is my first entry for the Ludum Dare. And so here are the lists of the steps I did, the positive things and the negative things I went through while creating the game,

Steps:

  1. Actually made a written plan or to-do list (which I seldom, if not never, made)
  2. I made the models myself.
  3. Wrote all the scripts from scratch.
  4. Made the music from scratch.
  5. And discovered a lot more.

Positive:

  1. The art style looks simple yet beautiful to the eyes.
  2. The gameplay itself is challenging.
  3. I think its not bad for a first entry.

Negative:

  1. The music is bad.
  2. There are still some bugs that I couldn’t fix; I did fix some but, it took a lot of my time.
  3. The game does not have that much “replayability” factor.

With all those being said, I promised myself that I will improve and create more beautiful games in the future.
