The last couple events I’ve been sticking with Java cause it’s an easy language (both for developing and web deployment), and I’ve been wanting to go 3D with LWJGL to spice things up, but I’ve realized that although I like OpenGL I don’t know enough about LWJGL to actually get nearly as much done as if I just stay with 2D Java for one more compo (I can just play around with it before Global Game Jam in a few weeks anyway). So the specs are:

Language: Java

IDE: Eclipse

Sound: sftx maybe, and maybe some freeware music studio I find online during the compo, who knows

OS: Linux Mint

LWJGL Applet Help?

Hey guys! So I’m a pretty knowledgeable Java programmer, and I also happen to be pretty good with C++ and OpenGL, so the other day I decided to try out LWGJL to make a nice 3D applet that I can put online for the compo. The problem is LWJGL is kinda a bitch to set up. I have it working in eclipse, and once I export it I can even get it to run properly if I include the library path when running through command line. The problem is that won’t cut it for online applets. There are supposedly tutorials for the LWJGL Applet Loader, which looks like it should be handy, but it’s pretty shoddily explained and I can’t seem to work it. If anyone has a good idea to try or knows how to work the LWJGL Applet Loader (or any alternative that works) please let me know, it would be a great help!
