Glad this theme got chosen. I’m really excited about the ideas I have for it.

Good luck to everyone, I’m off to sleep.

Well seeing as I was unable to post updates during the competition, I figured I might as well write up a quick post mortem.

Things right:
-The theme, this was the only one I had an initial idea that I liked, so I was glad it won
-The design, I actually created a game that was completable in the 48 hours, unlike the last times I entered..
-Bug fixing, surprisingly the game crashing bugs that came up were fixable in minutes instead of hours.
-The actual programming, which went pretty smoothly and quickly!

Things bad:
-I was out of town, which actually didn’t hurt too bad in the end. (Probably due to the theme)
-The color of the buttons. They look horrible as blue and purple, I should have changed them but my laptop was almost dead by the time I compiled everything..
-The remaining bugs, there are at least two of them left, and they are just of the sprites not turning off in those rare instances

If you haven’t played yet, give Planes a try!screen1

Language: Java w/LibGDX in Eclipse
Graphics: Photoshop 5 & paper/pen

Well, I made it.
Much better than last time, I actually have something that can be called a Game.

I didn’t get all the features I thought up for it, but I didn’t think I would and luckily got all the important ones.
I also haven’t actually played it. Everything kinda got done in the last hour and I only managed to balance it a little, so I don’t know if it will be too easy or too hard..

plus1Goat Luckily these weren’t hard to add.

Can’t wait to play everyone’s games, I’ve seen a Lot of good looking entries!

Starting to get behind, but I might still make the compo.

Had some motivation issues with coding today so I worked on graphics insteadScreen2

Finally got people and movement implemented, now I just need them to fight and the basic game will be done!

progress! i think

just after 3am here, managed to get terrain based off of a random heightmap, as well as dragging around, see:

Tomorrow I plan on adding the actual gameplay, it’ll be something to the effect of being the villain in an rpg
As for now I should probably sleep..

But I am in, and will try to be on time for the compo instead of the jam this ludum, hopefully

IDE: Eclipse

Certainly hope I have time to accomplish this, will be the first one I enter if so, the last attempt was cutoff by work..

I’ll be programming for the android platform, so their java & xml
then photoshop for my “art”
and bfxr for sounds if i can get there

should be interesting as I’ve never made an actual game in android yet..

O, and good-luck to those “old school” system programmers, would defiantly like to try that one day
