Change of plans!

So after waffling over how to fit the theme “You are the Monster” I think I’ve figured something out. However, doing it with PuzzleScript is not possible, so I’m going to use Unity and Aseprite. Today will mostly be spent getting systems working with rough art.

I’m in!

I will only use PuzzleScript. I’m sure that, as a programmer, I will curse myself many times for this decision. Looking forward to seeing what we all come up with!

Gonna just keep doing these

I’m in yet again. My submission last time wasn’t great but lessons were learned. Looking forward to what should be a much more successful LD. 😀

Engine: Unity (2D)

Graphics: Photoshop

Audio: SFXR or sampling + audacity

Really looking forward to this, just have to get through finals first 😛

Good luck to you all!

Round 2

This will be my second Ludum Dare and I’m very excited. I just purchased a Mac which I’ve been using all of two days so we’ll see how that goes. Last time I used LWJGL, which was great since I only needed to draw circles and lines. My last LD game took a turn for failure when I started maintaining pretty monstrous code to deal with the mechanic I was trying to create. I hope to make this year different.

TOOLS:

Engine: Unity3D
Language
: C#
IDE: MonoDevelop
Librarys: RagePixel
Music and sound: SFXR
Graphics: RagePixel

Unlike last year this LD I’ll be coming straight off of working for 8 hours, so it’ll be interesting seeing if I get any work done tonight or if I just go to sleep. Hope we can all create awesome things this weekend, and I look forward to playing what you all make :)

With ~8 hours to go, I have gameplay!

Pleased that after I got all this framework up the mechanic is actually really fun!

Slight change of plans, boilerplate!

I decided to make some light boilerplate for getting up and running with Java and LWJGL quickly. Feel free to use it :)

Not really sure how well this will go but hey might as well try. I decided today to take part in the compo, so that should be interesting. Have a few things to finish up for courses to allow me to participate this weekend, which will be tough.

Here’s a list of what I will be trying to use

  • Editor: Vim
  • Code: Java 1.7 SE (Might use lwjgl + Slick2D Utils)
  • Graphics: Gimp
  • Sound: Most likely sfxr

Schedule will probably be fairly relaxed, and that’s probably going to screw me, but we’ll see what happens. Good luck :)
