I was thinking, ‘What can fit on one screen?’ and I remembered a Simon game I had when I was a kid, and I figured Simon + spaceships would work. Anyway, I think it’s done so here it is for your enjoyment.

The timing couldn’t be better as the weather is shaping up to be pretty miserable in Philly this weekend.
Using Unity3d, Pickle Editor + Paint.NET, and Audacity for audio.
Time to curl up by the fire and make some games!
Couldn’t participate in the Spring, so I am just bursting with excitement to have a nice, clear weekend to wolf down some potato salad and make a game.
Tools!
Development: Unity/Monodevelop
Sound: sfxr, USB microphone, Audacity
Graphics: Pickle, Paint.NET, colored pencils + scanner
I think I am finished. It works, at least. The controls are a little wonky and it’s not exactly challenging, but it’s complete and I even added music this time.
I always learn a lot from competing in LD and this was no exception. I need to practice my (nonexistent) pixel art skills and get a lot better at time management. I would love to spend another few hours on tightening the controls but my brain is cooked and I need food badly.
Here is a link to my game:

As always, it was a pleasure to take part in Ludum Dare. I can’t wait to start playing everyone’s games!
But we are in the middle of a snow storm where I live, so what else am I going to do?
My game is called One Chance, and you play a new step parent trying to make a good impression on your new step child this Christmas. You have to talk to him for clues as to what he wants (one of three possible gifts, maybe more if I have time) and go purchase the correct present. You only have one chance to get the perfect gift and buy your new child’s respect and love. Be careful, the other shoppers exist only to make your life miserable and will steal your gift unless you employ pepper spray. In this screenshot you are pepper spraying the child for some reason.
What is wrong with you?
I missed the last compo due to a move so I am eagerly throwing my hat in the ring. I will start my warmup game this weekend.

I am pumped the hell up. This is my second Ludum Dare, and while I would describe my first experience as positive and I learned a lot, I feel I can do waaay better than last time.
Tools
Engine/IDE: Unity/Monodevelop
Language: C#
Sound: Audacity + some guitar noise, maybe a cheap keyboard I have lying around I don’t know
Last time I was blown away by the creativity and ingenuity on display, especially in such a short period of time. I can’t wait to play as many of these games as I can!
Well, I finally finished. I didn’t get a chance to work on this at all yesterday, so I had to do it all this afternoon. The end result is not pretty, but it’s at least functional.
You are the nefarious Dr. Grigori, and you’ve captured the famous secret agent Mr. Bont. You’ve just finished explaining your plot to take over the world and set up his slow, gruesome death when his buddies break in with tools to shut down the power to your machine. Luckily, you have a jetpack and a laser gun.
Play it here!
You might have some questions. Why don’t the good guys just shoot you? Why don’t you just shoot Mr. Bont? Where am I? I don’t know, I don’t know, I don’t know!
This is the first time I’ll be competing in Ludum Dare and I’m pretty excited. My coding skills could use some warming up so I guess I know what I’ll be doing for the next 9 days or so. That and waiting for inspiration to strike, I guess. My tools:
Coding: C# (Unity3D)
Graphics: Paint.NET
Music/Sound: Audacity, plus my beater acoustic.
