Greetings desk-flippers and glasses-lovers! Megane Fever: Post-Compo is here!
Many new flippable objects have been added, plus two new club rooms, a new weapon, and various graphics improvements. Most notably, color corrections to the school interior. Simply changing the color of the floor and wall imbued a great amount of life into the setting.
Adding objects to the game was trivially easy, since every one of them is simply an extension of the Desk class. I spent many hours on the first evening studying Flixel and NAPE to bring you the most realistic desk-flipping simulator possible.. before giving up and sticking to my own code base as originally planned! Weep for all the could-be objects lost by those hours!
It is now possible for the player to be defeated, certainly the most common request I’ve received. The code for destroying the player existed from the beginning, but I spent a great deal of time trying to make sense of the story and characters’ motivations, so the enemies and level designs were shoved in at the last opportunity. For better or worse, many users still seemed to enjoy a zero-stress game immediately after the jam. ( •⌄• ू )✧
