Hey all. Just wanted to mention you can try my LD31 entry on the go with the Dino Dash: Rex’s Run mobile edition! Come to think of it, this turns it into a real handheld game.

Dino Dash Screen

This goes out to a buddy of mine who wanted to try the game but couldn’t easily get to a computer. The Phaser library made it easy! Anyway, feel free to hit the Mobile link on my entry page to try it out. Enjoy!

Controls:
Touch left side of screen to jump
right side to do downward bite attack.

Friends and fellow participants, congrats on getting to the finish line! I’m glad to have found the time to ride this one out and am pleased to bring you Dino Dash: Rex’s Run:

DinoDashScreenI mostly wanted to have fun with this one and I didn’t want to let an LD go by without doing anything. That’s significant because my wife is in her 9th month of pregnancy and we’re moving into a new house, closing on Wednesday. I won’t even bother with the understatement of saying we’re busy.

That said, I checked the theme on my phone right after an ultrasound, I got started on something after packing some boxes, and somehow I got a completed project submitted.

It’s no Flappy Bird but it was an entertaining (to me) way to solve the theme problem, it was really fun to think and design within the constraints of old LCD handheld mechanics, and I’m walking away with my head held high.

Give it a play, I’ll be happy to return the favor. Congrats again to all.

Hey all. Our game Virophage is submitted on Eerongal’s page here: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-29/?action=preview&uid=2978

For posterity’s sake I wrote up a post mortem on my dev blog, but I’d love for the community to have access to it. We really enjoyed ourselves this time around. Congrats to all.

Congrats to everyone who’s crossing the finish line as we speak and good thoughts to those still in the fray.

As for my project, it’s running, you can win, you can lose, and I’m calling it an LD Success. As my entry page discusses, a lot went undone but I left some features on the table to hand out a couple of early Christmas presents and I’m feeling great about the weekend overall.

My game is a web-based card battle called Card Encounter! It runs using GameJs and my sweat, and I’d love for you to enjoy it. I may just add some of those enhancements to it further down the road. Cheers for now!
