I have all the architecture and mechanics implemented. Just have to make levels and work on some shiny bits.

But I’m getting tired. Brain feels like jelly.

I kind of doodled something. It’s crappy, but I eanjoy it so much I’ll probably use it in the game.




My first 48 hour game is done.

It was a fun experience. The compo is way tougher then the jam, especially when I only participated in a team. I’m really tired, and have to go to work in about 7 hours so, I’m gonna go to bed.

Best of luck for the “jammers” and anyone who is still finishing his compo game.

Ludum Dare is trying to get me high!

Getting stuff ready

So.. only half an hour to go. What am I doing? I’m getting stuff ready!

Setting up the project skeleton.

Setting up a github.

Checking if all my software is correctly installed.

Checking my old code for useful stuff.

Maybe code some procedural content generation stuff that might be useful. Probably Perlin noise and Markov chains.


I’ll probably go to bed soon after the theme is announced. It was a though day at my job, and it’s 2:30 am in Portugal.

I’m McBeef, from the LD#23 Quinas Studio, who made Giant Step, and LD#24 Team Kl0n, who made Tower of Nugs.

This time I will be participating alone, trying to go for the compo. Here is my setup:

Engine/Framework: MOAI

Language: Lua

Graphics: GraphicsGale and my trusty Bamboo drawing table for crappy pixel art

Audio: Haven’t thought of that yet.

Target: Windows, Chrome and maybe Android (But anyone will be free to build the source for other targets)
