The time-lapse video of the development of my game is finally uploaded. Also, please check it out and leave me a comment with your feedback. I’d love to hear what you think about my game

here is my game so far: www.martinbeierling.de/LD34 (Unity’s WebGL export works well now. I was really surprised!!)
The procedural generation took the most time, again. There will be more to the game in the end (hopefully):
- 4 different modes with seperate highscores,
- Pause-Window,
- improved and interated models, textures and animations,
- sound
- and FIREWORKS
I streamed the whole day at my twitch: twitch.tv/mBeierling (there should be an on demand video live now, if you care to re-watch this 😉 ). I will create a complete time-lapse after day 2.
Now it is time for a little nap to start with a fresh brain with day 2!! Goodnight, y’all!
Coffee, rolling balls and streaming bytes of video-data
Good morning, folks! (it’s morning at my place at least 😉 )
My game will be this (pic of my whiteboard with the game cornerstones):
I already started developing, if you wanna watch me develop and listen to me talk to myself, you’re welcome to join my stream 😉 twitch.tv/mBeierling
My second Ludum Dare! I’m really excited to start creating something over the next 48 hours.
My tools will be Unity 5.3 (yes, I want to test the multi scene feature ;-)), bfxr and as a Programmer I don’t really know what graphics software I’ll be using yet. Any suggestions? I was thinking about paint.net.
I’ll also be streaming and creating a time-lapse video of my development in the end. My twitch is twitch.tv/mBeierling. Maybe see you in the chat!
Happy gamedev everybody!
Timelapse and my first compo entry, so happy! :-)
I had a really cool weekend and completed my game. Please rate and comment: http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-31/?action=preview&uid=28616
Sadly, I lost the video file of the first day, so this is just the second day with 64x speed.
What is my game capable of by now? It creates a real hexagon grid with customizable hexagon size, columns and rows. It links them up in a data structure and I use this to get all possible paths from one start point (on the left) to one end point (on the right). I will pre-calculate around 1 million possible paths now while I am eating some sweet fondue! Those paths will then be used in the actual game loop. More about that later!
I will be doing my first Ludum Dare this time. As many of you might know, you always want to participate, but family, work and other life-stuff always is a lot of pressure to simply ignore for one weekend.
This weekend, I will try to ignore it as much as I can and develop. I can’t wait to finally start a new project from scratch and make something that will be finished in two days. I had a lot of stuff that was long-term work in the last months.
It is very important to forget anything serious from time to time and let your creativity flow!!
I will use the tools I am comfortable with:
- Unity + VS2013
- PyxelEdit and Paint.net
- SFXR
See you on the other side!
