Spent about an hour thinking of a game idea after theme announcement as well as watching some livestreams and failing to set mine up properly. =( Talked to my girlfriend for a bit, then got started.

My idea involves having one thing that grows and becomes many things over time. Like having a seed, planting a tree, tree grows more seeds, etc. Not sure about the exact implementation, but that’s the general focus.

I “know” I want to have a top-down game for this idea, so I’ve implemented basic AABB collisions, movement/controls that feels right, and a follow-me camera to boot. Although, I may have the camera go a bit ahead of the player… so you kinda only see in the direction you move. Not sure.

Also, for no good reason, there’s a console system in my lil’ framework I nearly forgot about! Doubt it’ll be of much use, but it’s neat regardless.

I just got a new laptop (Lenovo y510p w/ dual GTX 750Ms) and so I’ll finally have dual monitors! I’m pretty pumped. The microphone is not set up yet – have to go pick it up from a friend’s house as I’ll be borrowing it. That said, here’s the pics!

I’m in! Using the same tools this time around. I’ve setup my dev area in the basement of the house where I’ll be away from noisy people and I’m ready to roll!

I’m hoping Hunted is the theme. I have a pretty neat idea for that, but I’m not too picky. I’ll work with whatever!

Either way, I’m live streaming all my development on my Twitch channel. Hopefully I’ll see you there!

Almost Nothing – Complete!

Way ahead of schedule, too! I plan on using some of the remaining time to add more levels and maybe some polish, but I’m very satisfied with this small <30 minute action-puzzle game.

Minimalism is very defined in this game through the control scheme, graphics, and interface.

So I got a decent game idea last night and mulled over it in my deep sleep. It was a basic action/puzzle game that would, I feel, fit the theme quite well. I have a playable alpha for anyone to play with if you so desire.

So I’m in. I’m planning to try and do it all; livestream, timelapse, and a game. We’ll see how it goes!
