Somehow this LD has been less stressful and I’m starting to actually relax…hopefully that won’t mean I’ll run out of time tomorrow. Guess we’ll see.

Anyways, here’s some pics and a dog for you guys. It’s a speed-runner style game, so hopefully I can add some leaderboards tomorrow.

Sadly just an image, but at least I fleshed out the basics of the style and perspective

Wasn’t feeling this theme at first, but this idea I have seems quite expansive, competitive, and fun…but most importantly SIMPLE!!!

After some concerns about scheduling, I’m in.

Tools are same as always:

Unity (2D off course, are you crazy???)

Photoshop CS6

Illustrator CS6 (for logos and graphics work)

Garageband (maybe use my guitar and bass for a soundtrack this time)

I always seem to do this to myself every LD….. I keep questioning my first idea, scratch it, start at least 3 more new ideas, and then go bak to the original idea again, now several hours in. When will I learn?

After having a complete blast with my first jam ever last time with LD #31 (thanks to the GREAT community and support) I have already cleared my schedule for LD #32!
Last year I somehow was floored by the results and placed Bronze in Sound (I have no idea how) so yeah…. no pressure haha!

Goals:

Audio Rank: Somehow got 3rd last time… so yeah no pressure.

Better Graphics: I’m a graphic designer, there’s no excuse for my lack of effort last time!

Management: DO NOT restart 7 new games within the first 12 hours! No… not again…..

Interact: Meet more great people in this awesome community!

Tools:

Engine: Unity 5

Graphics: Photoshop, Illustrator, Mischief, Wacom Bamboo Tablet

Audio: Garageband, LMMS, Audacity, LSDJ (maybe)

Stream: Twitch and OBS (maybe, still debating)


 

Can’t wait to see the theme and play everyone’s awesome games!

 

Help Ludum Dare Rebrand itself!

Hey Guys!

If you haven’t seen above, the LD community is being asked to help rebrand the site and even give us a little mascot!

 


 

I know the post said no typography, colors, or logos yet….but I’m a professional Graphic Designer and I could help myself.

Here’s my take on the mascot. There’s an egg guy and my favorite, the like seedling with a gamepad for a leaf sprout!

Decision Help for BT2

Hi guys and gals!

I’ve been stating that I’m going to release a Post-Compo sequel to Beat+Trak soon but have be hit hard by the level of content production required.
Because the game is a music/rhythm game, every new level needs a new song which starts to add up  and I’m honestly running out of creative motivation/getting a headache from working on music.

I was wondering if I should take the easy way out and include some songs that weren’t personally made into the game?

What do you guys think? Do I risk the game’s audio reputation? Any thoughts?
