Finally did something!

Two hours pacing until I figured out what to do with this theme. Then I wrote a few lines of code. Now my body tells me it’s approximately sleep time!

I have a design, it is interesting to say the least.

I’m creating a design for an RTS that only uses one key(minimalistic right?)

The idea is that you hold down spacebar to advance and attack and release it to regroup and defend. With the goal of taking ‘capture points’ that increase your teams spawn rate.

 

First I’m making the map generator, then I will work on AI pathfinding, then last I will make it into a playable game. Hopefully with sunday left to spare for debugging.

 

it’s still late evening where I live so I plan to go to sleep and build it tomorrow.

I’m also recording a screen capture timelapse that will be on the boby alliance(youtube) when finished.

This will be my first LD entry. I meant to enter into the last mini LD but my current project took up all my free time(with current project meaning  me playing too much victoria 2)

I considered using  java or python however ended up deciding on GML so I can put the game together faster.

I just put together a simple script to load all code externally and am excited to see the results.

 

Language: GML

IDE: notepad++

Graphics: paint.net or hand drawn

Audio: Blue yeti for effect recordings, digital piano for music, editing with Audacity
