It’s hard to believe that we started 24 hours ago. We figured the worst kind of monster sits in alleys in the dark in the middle of the city with a white van.
Hopefully we’ll have a lot more interesting things to show off in the next 48!

Looks like we’re joining the LD again this time around. It’s two of us this time around and we’ll be using Unity with C# and a few other programs like GIMP for assets.
We had such a fun time making our last LD game we thought we’d come back for another Jam. We’ll be bringing a few more friends this time, so we may end up breaking into two small groups to have double the fun!
Our tools:
Unity+C#, Paint.net/GIMP/Blender
Good luck everyone!
Hey everyone! A couple of friends and I are ready for the Jam this time around.
Tools:
Unity – C#
Gimp/Paint/Blender
And of course anything else we end up needing.
Good luck!
It turns out working in a team doesn’t suddenly make everything easy. With all this school and real life getting in the way progress is slow, but at least we have a pretty game so far. I’m hoping to get the rest of it coded tonight and work on polish tomorrow between classes!
With one LD under my belt I thought I’d come back for more with friends. Hopefully more people/time allows me to make something a little more playable and fun.
The goods:
Code:
Java through Eclipse with LWJGL and Slick
Graphics:
Paint.net
Sound:
Reaper
It looks like we have a team of 4, with 1-2 on code, 1 on art and 2 on sound. Worst case scenario is an awesome soundtrack!
Hey, if anybody noticed, my game was not running for some reason and I had to go to work before the compo ended. Well now there is some great news: using JarSplice I managed to get the dang thing working! The game is unchanged from when I submitted it, its just that it was repackaged into a fat jar (and I hope that’s legal and all), so you should check it out if you wanted to before.
Best of luck to everyone!
After a short break from coding, I went back to it, and got almost all the UI finished, which is a large part of the game!
I don’t think this game will be super great, but it will be mildly entertaining ( I hope) and finished in the 48 hour time span, and that’s just what I want it to be!
Here’s my fabulous title screen with some monsters:
Unfortunately it looks like real life is going to be getting in the way soon, so hopefully I can finish it up either tonight or tomorrow morning.
(BTW, all of your games look wonderful. I’m having a hard time concentrating because I keep seeing all the awesome games popping up. Keep up the great work!)
12-ish hours in: I thought I would post a slightly-more-polished-but-not-all-the-way-there screen shot. This one is of a furry monster, I think he might be my new favorite. For a simple game this is a lot more time consuming than I expected! At least it’s a fun time.
Just don’t ask about the “Skin” monster. It really is awful…
I thought I would share some of my progress so far!
I am pretty new to programming, so I thought I would keep it simple. Here is the monster “evolver” part of my game. As you can see, it’s only about 40% done.
I still need to add in the buttons to actually add things to the monsters (like spikes, lots of spikes), and send them into battle!
Then again, after seeing all these other great games mine looks a little cheesy… Hah!
Hey everyone, I’m LogGiant (known offline as Logan), and I’ve been learning the Lightweight Java Game Library (with the slick util for handy texture loading ;)) since I got out of school near the end of May to keep myself busy, so I thought I would give LD a try! I’m pretty excited, I think I am going to spend this week making sure I’m ready. It’s nice to meet you all. 😀
