Declaration of Intent

I’m waiting on an email for a job offer, and every day for a full two weeks they’ve told me to expect an answer that day, so uhh, I’m distracting myself from the suspenseful anticipation with the LD compo this weekend! =D I’m -definitely- a Unity person, and a hardcore coder, so I’m mixing things up a bit and focusing on art this time around! Hopefully I’ll be able to pull off something good enough to be visually appealing~

So, TOOLS:

  • Unity, with ScriptInspector3 as an IDE. (it’s amazing, and I don’t need to tab out of Unity for it and risk distractions!)
  • Photoshop and Blender for art. <3 Blender!
  • Audacity/SFXR/(nanoloop?) for audio, I have no idea what I’m doing here, but audio is something I’d like to do well this time too.

My last real successful Ludum Dare game was a mini-Ludum Dare, (Shark week!) but I finished it, and published it on Android, and it was awesome! (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.simbryocorp.sharkagachi&hl=en) Here’s hoping I’m just as successful this time around~

Had a blast with a great group of people, and I’d say we made a pretty decent looking product!

It basically turned into a space trader game; we didn’t get solidly into the real theme tie-in, but we did get in a lot of the ideas we were looking at. We’ll probably add more of that in over the next few days though!
