I submitted my science-fiction platformer with super powers:

Now, this was rough. Instead of overestimating the project like last time, this time I highly underestimated how time-consuming it is:
1. to write a platforming engine in Game Maker,
2. to design levels that make sense (the game ended up being just one level),
3. to implement an engaging story,
4. to relate everything to the theme
This morning (or technically yesterday’s morning), I actually thought I would have to give up. I had nothing but a small set of working mechanics without any ideas how to use them effectively. The great plans I made at the start turned out to be absolutely utopian. But after an hour of thinking or so, I finally started working on the actual game. I will probably post a lengthier post-mortem as soon as I’ve had some sleep.
have fun, Khayet
