After 7 hours of coding and some messing around, I need a rest!

I’m doing a kinda linear shooter, probably will try and turn it into a bullet hell.

So far I’ve made movement system, laser and projectile shooting and added a static terrible AI which is being randomly spawned.

Yo! It’s time for another LD and this time I’ll be jamming! I’ll try to stick to the 48 hour limit.

Engine: Unity3D
Library: Visual Novel/CYOA engine I started working a week ago, this is a good place to give it a test!
Graphics: I don’t know how to art, probably Paint doodles
Music: Super likely going to ping @TomboFry for a couple of his songs! http://music.tombofry.co.uk/
SFX: freesound.org and maybe bfxr

Having some light food right now, after a long bed time, looking at what I’m doing, sort of merging FF7 and Pokemon, hopefully I’ll have enough time for some RPG conversations into the mix if not a partial JRPG it’ll be!

Current problems JRPGs are GUI heavy, oops! But that’s ok I had been training that prior to LD, just slow as hell 😛


I’ll also be using @DarkMeatGames awesome toolkit for world creation because it is awesome, grab it while you can!

As words are just lacking, let’s just do LD48 once again 😀

Language: C#

Text Editor: Sublime Text 3

Engine:  Unity

Graphics: I still have null graphical skills, so I’ll be poping blender just for geometric shapes! (unless I go nuts and meddle into unknown territory)

Audio: Another area I’m lacking in! like most of my previous LD I think I’ll just pass on it, I may or may not scream at Audacity sometimes 😐

This will be my third time participating in LD48!

I’ll be using Unity, but likely not making anything big visually!

My objective in this LD is to learn more about Unity GUI components and more about story driven dev. So I’m likely to be making a sort of text adventure with multiple choices unless the theme gives me a way better awesome idea of course 😀

So I’ll be using Unity3D with SimpleJSON for any existing rather not hardcode data!

It was a long run, and I’m getting tired so I’m calling this the Revenge of the Goats.

Goals Assessment

Finishing a game! – done! Not exactly the theme I hoped for but awesomely fun nevertheless.

Fun and Experience – done! Learnt quite a few things,one of them was that I need to project my views better.

Use what I accomplish this weekend as the base for a bigger and amazing game – Maybe if I get an actual artist, heh.

Features not implemented

Armies, I mean I wanted to have ramming goats throwing themselves at humans holding pikes! But that’s way too epic for my drawing skills and to do in 48 hours with my current experience.

Introduction clip has been done! Missing the victory (good/bad ending maybe) clip, also the losing clip.

Still haven’t made a music I like.

No sound Effects as of yet, not really a must so I’m leaving it to last.

Also for there to be a losing clip I need an actual lose situation! Better get that AI done.

Forgot to add AI.. game is unloseable 😐

I’m unsure if I’ll have time to add the AI, we’ll see, nevertheless it’s a game worth it’s 48 hours work for someone who’s making his second game.

Was going for an army of evolved goats killing all humans, but will have to cut down on that army! Instead I’ll have to remain with a simple goat superiority zerg.

This will ensure I have time to build up the storyline and some minor polishing.

This will be my first LD48 and my second game!

Language: As3

IDE: FlashDevelop

Framework:  Starling

Graphics: I’m terrible at drawing! Where should I get some nicely done spritesheets?

Audio: Sfxr /freesound.org



Finishing a game! I’ll be proud of myself whether or not I finish something good, the simple fact of finishing will be a great morale boost!

October Challenge, My First Game

I’ve been lurking around for some time, idling or reading around about game development, but no more, this challenge is exactly what I need to stir things up. Therefore I’ll be making a simple action game with RPG elements while abusing procedural generation. At least in theory 😀

Since I’m terrible at drawing I intend that even your character, monsters, weapons and abilities be created using PGG (Procedural Generated Graphics).

For this I’ll be using:

  • Flash Develop (Actionscript 3)
  • Music/Sound I have no idea 😀

Any hints and tips are welcome ^.^
