Abduction complete

My first time completing a Ludum Jam entry. Written in Java using Slick2d. Unfortunately I have stuff to be doing at the submission time, so I’ll stop here and submit this a bit early.

Just to copypaste my description: Abduction is an arcade “upgrade-em-up” in which you control an alien UFO and abduct humans for research. Each round lasts 30 seconds, during which you must abduct as many humans as possible. In between rounds, you upgrade your ship and unlock powerful special weapons to challenge the increasingly harder waves of enemies. An average player should be able to unlock everything in 15-20 minutes.

Check it out here:  http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-33/?action=preview&uid=12083

Or on GitHub: https://github.com/Keon3141/LudumJam33/

It was a real blast, and I’m looking forward to playing all the games.

I’m in-ish for Ludum Jam

So, I’m in again for Ludum Jam. This time, I’ll be solo, and making a game using slick2d and lwjgl. I don’t know what it will be yet, but I’m hoping to finish.  Maybe. I’m excited though. The themes I’ve seen have been pretty cool so far, so things look good.

My tools:

I’ll be using Java with Slick2d and LWJGL.

Art: Photoshop and Paint.net, depending on computer.

Sound: Audacity and sfxr

Tiles: Tiled? Maybe?

Music: MuseScore and various sites like http://incompetech.com

So team [I have no idea] is hard at work, and at the end of day zero-point-five (The time when most people would go to sleep, but naaaaaaahhhh…), we have the beginnings of a game.

Sprite teaser!

Robot thing!

Evil nasty robots.

I, for the first time, am in.

I will be using Java, with photoshop/gimp/paint.net for images and audacity/other things for music and sound. I’m using LWJGL and a custom library, https://github.com/TechShroom/EmergencyLanding.

Good luck to all, and I can’t wait. Now to finish the engine.
