Third time in the Ludum Dare, and alone again in the 48 hours compo.

My tools are the same than the last time:

  • Code: Game Maker Studio
  • Pixel Art: Aseprite, GraphicsGale & Photoshop
  • Music: Royalty Free track from Incompetech.com
  • SFXs: Bfxr
  • Timelapse Capture: Chronolapse

The game is in and the voting period is started. Time to play. Time to judge. Time to be proud to participate in this big party.

As my second time on a Ludum Dare Jam i think this time was more productive than the first one. Even though the topic was somewhat general, I think the idea for the game was sufficiently motivating to be able to make a game that can be played.

I’m happy. This is my first time in a Ludum Dare and i’ve achieved my target of ending the game. The game is called Twin Bullets and you can view more info on the entry page of the game :-)

The day was over. Now I have a prototype working and now we have to recover tomorrow to try to get the best of my artistic skills (pixel art). The challenge is to try to not look as bad as now.

Resources update

I’m still warming up for tomorrow. I’ve been reading all the posts in this blog and i’ll change some resources. On this post, Knowledge lists a interesting resource, the Fake Music Generator. I think i’ll try to do my best with some random generated track and Audiacity. It’s my best alternative now.

For the rest of the day i’ll practice a little more with Game Maker Studio.

Hi :-)

I’m a total noob at developing games, this is my first Ludum Dare Jam. Few months ago I started learning pixel art and a few weeks ago I started to learn some framework to help me make a game more easily done.

I’m not 100% sure to be able to finish a game in 48 hours, but it’s gone a be good to get out of the comfort zone :-S.

I hope to finish the game and I hope we can play good games once finished 48 hours (as every Ludum Dare). These are my tools:

  • Pixel Art: Aseprite, GraphicsGale & Photoshop
  • Music: Perhaps any Royalty Free track from Incompetech.com
