I’m finally done so much hard work :).

Monster Deck is a card fighting game about giant! but cute monsters.

Hi Jammers!,

This is some screenshots from just art/prefab mockups for my game in unity. Still first pass of art all cards are the same currently. Moving onto some coding soon to get some functionality. Exciting for this jam. Theme is you fight as giant monsters against each other and you can collect various procedural monster cards. The mechanics will be based on a speed/reaction click that determines how much percentage of a attack/defend you do against the opponent.

Hi All.

Wanted to share a quick screenshot from my game galaxy shift. The shape shifting is about you growing bigger as you roll around the planets collecting objects. Think of katamari style gameplay but in space and it will have some other interesting powerups etc :). The game has only been worked on 3 hours so far. It’s all in-engine shots though. I gave up on my first game after 8 hours as it didn’t feel good enough.

Any feedback would be welcome so far!

Hi Everyone,

Final update before i will be submitting later tonight. Very happy with the game got alot of fun destruction gameplay. Going to be working on some music/sounds, improving controls and then submitting :D. Yay another close to done.

Monster City Rampage – Update 1

Hi All,

This is my game after day 1. You play as a monster and you will have to destroy the city/buildings/civilians/cars etc. You will gain points and combos. You have an abilitiy to eat destruction and people to gain points aswell as gaining for pure smashing stuff. The destruction system is all dynamic so you can smash walls/floors/roofs and watch the havok unfold.

This one was a tough challenge but i’m super happy with how it turned out. Think it might be my best jam game i’ve done too date.

I’m happy with how my game is coming along. It’s a detective style game were you have to talk to different people to find out who killed your family member. To win, you will have to get the correct person aswell as the correct weapon. Your notepad is your biggest unconventional weapon to find out the killer so you can take him out.

Finally finished with our game. We created a 2-4 player brawler. Great fun to finish another game. Last year we completed dumb waiter. It was one of our best games so far from ludum dare :D. Very happy with how this game turned out.

Dumb Waiter – Breakdown

Dumb waiter was a great project and we felt we learnt alot from it. Everyone that has played it seemed to love the game and we have had almost 270 people play the game so far. I wanted to write up this quick post on how we created the game.

Time Scale of Project (Hours Spent *Overall Between 2 People)

  • Design: 3 Hour
  • Prototype: 3 Hours (Player Movement, Basic Physic Catching)
  • Gameplay Coding: 12 Hours
  • Level Building: 14 Hours+
  • Menu Building: 2 Hours
  • Other Art: 3 Hours
  • Balancing Refinement: 2 Hours

Lessons Learned:

  • Working in team can be alot more challenging at times as you need to go back and forth with data and more communication (decisions)
  • Team can also make work easier as there is less load so it can be spread across people.
  • Get gameplay working first before you start doing other areas
  • Work on everything first and then polish at the end. Don’t try and make it all perfect intially
