About Kakureta

Hi, the name's Kakureta. Well, it's not my real name, but it's best to hide my identity for now. I'm a small low-level indie game developer and I have low experience in making games. My speciality is making graphics. I can manage coding and I lack audio skills. That's me.

Potato is baked!

Wow. This weekend was horrible… but AWESOME! I’ve finally finished and submitted my game for the compo, it’s called Just Potato.

Potato continues to bounce :O

For this Ludum Dare, I had only one day out of two since I was working on saturday, so the amount of work I managed to accomplish is actually pretty outsanding for me. I’ve never done so much in such little time 😀 Also, this is my first time in the compo.

Heck, I took me so not long to do this that I actually managed to implement a secret Christmas mode because why not:

Christmas is coming soon, after all. Ho! Ho! Ho! Potatoes for everyone!

Anyways, LD was super fun as always and I’m already looking forward to the next one. Meanwhile, you can have fun growing a potato here.

Potato potato potato potato potato potato potato potato potato pota- Oh hey! You’re here!

I finished my game by the way, although I may add some more bonus stuff since I still have time :)

The game is a two-button controlled game about a jumping and growing potato…

Did I mention I love potatoes?

Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy…. I. AM. SO. IN.

The one theme that I wanted to win or else I wasn’t doing the dare, actually won! I’m going to be using growth as my theme.

Here is a hint to what my game is going to be: Potato

Isn’t it beautiful?

This is my 3rd Ludum Dare and I was hesitant on doing it because I have only one day not two. :( But I’m planning on doing something really simple with this potato so I’ll probably finish in time!

Using my sack o’ junk as usual:

-3ML editor for sound.

Good luck to you all! And may Shia LaBoeuf be with you…

Dark Howl

Alright alright alright!

My game is done.

I present to you: Dark Howl

A 2D platformer in which you play as a werewolf trying to kill people.

I made this in unity. The art, sound and music were also made by me.

A little bit about the game:

The game is unpolished and not very visually appealing, BUT it has a lot of content (10 levels people!) because I spent a whole day designing the levels instead of working on the other aspects. Overall, I’d call this one a success, unlike my previous Ludum Dare where something happened and I didn’t submit anything. This was my second LD and my first successful one and I hope it won’t be the last. I will definitely participate again in the future and I might even try entering the compo next time!

Meanwhile, you can play, rate and have fun slicing people in half here.

I have a gif for you

“Kill them all!”

Colors are a bit weird on this GIF by the way.

Anyways, all the core aspects of my jam game are done! All I have to do now is design some levels and maybe a boss fight.

Oh, and I also have a title screen:

I couldn’t find a better title (I almost called it “Werewolf”).

Whatever, at least it’s a better title than “You are the monster” -_-

Added gore to the game!

“Yes… give me all your fresh blood…”

The animation is a bit cheesy but at least there’s blood everywhere.

It’s alive!

Don’t Ludum Dare at night, it makes you see funny things…

Finally got some graphics to show off…

“The graphizs man, it’s all about the graphikss…”

I hope I finish in time though, this thing takes forever to animate.

Made it just in time!

I just came back from vacation and I almost didn’t make it. Luckily, here I am and my boss was good enough to NOT make me work for the next few days. It’s my second time entering the jam and I’m really looking forward to it, especially after what happened to me last LD (Damned Bluescreens).

So now I’m here, entering alone this time as I have no idea where in the world my LD buddy is. I hope I can finish something without problems this time and, as usual, I’m using the low-level game dev starter pack:

  • Unity
  • Photoshop
  • And my trusty MML program from the 90’s to make sound

Looking forward to it!

What happened to me during Ludum Dare 32

Was bored and pissed after my LD fail so I made this.

Killed in action. Ludum Dare 32

Howdy all,

I regret to inform the community that my jam game won’t make it this time. My computer went full blue screen while I was trying to import a large file into Unity. This was my first Ludum Dare that I did with my friend TheLion and we had a lot of fun even though in the end, I didn’t manage to release anything. Next Ludum Dare will be better!

Edit to my situation

I’ve decided I would enter Ludum Dare Jam with my friend TheLion, unlike I previously said.

We’re using unity like I said in my previous post.

Happy Dare!

I’ve been waiting… (I’m in)

Howdy all,

Over the past months I’ve been following the Ludum Dare site. I’ve been watching, waiting, studying how the competition works and how everyone makes their games n’ stuff. Now here I am, ready to participate after waiting so long for the Jam. It’s my first time, yes, but I’ve seen a lot of LDs and I’m pretty sure this one’s gonna be good. Because it’s my first time, I might have trouble making something in such a short time, but I’ll definitely try to make something.

I’ll be using tools like:

Unity or Photoshop (The level 1 Indie game dev starter pack)

and for audio, I’m using an MML (Music Macro Language) program.

I’m looking forward to this!
