I made a pixel art palette creator!

Greetings Ludum-goers, I’ve spent the last couple of hours creating this very simple webapp. The app takes every pixel of a given image and creates a palette of colors from them. After getting the colors, it attempts to sort them into groups, which doesn’t always work perfectly. The app can also export an image with each color for ease of access. While it technically can do this with any image, it will produce thousands of colors if the source isn’t pixel art or is overly complicated.

I’ve only tested this in the newest versions of Chrome and Firefox.

This will be my fourth LD and having done the jam last time, I’m hoping to finish in time for the compo.

I’ll be using these technologies:

Thou art in!

I will be participating in Ludum Dare #30! I will very likely be using my own very, very simple HTML5 Canvas framework. It’s really just a bunch of functions that make objects so I don’t have to type as much. Here it is, if for some reason you feel like trying it out. It doesn’t work extremely well, but it speeds things up for me. As for software, here’s what I use:

Sublime Text 2 – Code editor

GIMP – Graphics editor

Audacity – Audio editor, in the event that I need one

Lastly, I will be using Github to host the sourcecode.

A menu is born! (Also, a late “I’m in”)

I made a menu! The menu using plain old canvas, no other HTML elements. Complete with a hover effect on the play button! Here’s the current version (only a menu). This project is using raw canvas and my own library SalmonJS.
