We’re making quite some progress on our game ‘Baguettes’ (title far from being not final):

  1. Enter a level.
  2. Get the pieces of baguettes lost in the level.
  3. Kill everyone, if you want.
  4. Finish level

The baguette plays a big role: it’s your only weapon. The more pieces you get, the more range the weapon gets.

Here’s a screenshot of how it is currently:

And here’s the beginning of the main menu!

The main menu as a gif!

We also have some tracks that are free and licensed in a way that we can use them 😀

As you might have noticed, we’re heavily inspired from the game Hotline Miami ^^

The team

We’re a team composed of 4 programmers:

What are we going to use ?

  • Scala (We’re still learning how to use it, that’ll be fun to use)
  • OpenGL
  • LWJALL, a Lightweight Java OpenAL Library for the sound
  • Our rushed basic 2D engine for this weekend: LudumEngine! (what an original name)

We might stream but nothing is sure yet. We’ll do a timelapse during the LD though, don’t worry :p

This will be our first entry as a team and we hope that nothing will go wrong. And why would it ? 😀

It’s 9pm here in France and I’m getting tired.

I hope the game isn’t too bad ^^

Don’t hesitate to click on the images to see them correctly!

The normal title screen of my game looks like that:

But now, if you wait more than 30 seconds on it…

(Click on the images to see them correctly sized)

I spent my whole evening fixing the player climbing animations and how the climbing is handled by the physics. But I think it was worth it! 😀

First (official and complete) map!

Finally finished all the player’s animations!

I’ll focus a bit more on maps and actual gameplay tomorrow and polish some tiny things this evening.

Bonus: A bit of code!

(they are two Windows calculators active, that’s how you know you’re busy :p)

Started to add animations to the player!

Climbing, jumping and falling are still missing though.

Here’s a video!

It has been two hours that I’m in and I still have no clear idea of what I’m doing.

At least, I’ll learn how to use Object Groups in Tiled!

I will be participating to this ludum dare unless it clashs too much with school.

Anyway, I hope the theme will be easier than last time and here are my weapons of choice:

Good luck everybody!

I gave in :(

This time, the theme wasn’t really inspiring and I can’t find any great idea.

So gaving in… :( Will be for the next time

28th Ludum Dare ? I’m in!

I’ll try to do a game with:

– Eclipse

– Paint.NET

– Notepad++

And… my mind, should be a great idea 😀

Maybe it’s a bit too early to say it but, good luck all!

Improved version?

Is it possible to add an improved (highscores, better transitions, etc.) version to our entry (and keep the original one) ?

Finally done!

Today was a great day!

I couldn’t think I’d do a game like this with only one day.

Here’s the link to the submition, Defuse the bomb

I didn’t think I’ll do as many images today:

DefuseTheBomb3(And Eclipse doesn’t want to show all the assets!)

Only for a very simple game like that!

Still have to do a pause menu and add 3 or 4 other levels (by now, I have already 5 levels that work perfertly fine)!
