I’m taking the extra 24 hours

Looks like I will not be wrapping this up in time to compete. Winning (or even competing) was not the motivation for entering, considering I started 24 hours later than the official start time, I will still be technically producing a game in 48 hours but hopefully with the help of my composer now that I don’t have to do everything myself :)

After looking at my original small scope idea, it was too simplistic and did not look fun. I was hopeful I would be able to get the new idea up and running pretty quick but by the time I had designed the new idea, made some artwork and got the framework initialized I was pretty tired and was coding extremely slow. That meant it was nap time on the couch. After three hours of sleep I woke up hit snooze and decided to push back the deadline 24 hours, which was the right choice.

Early art work. This is almost enough for me to start programming with. I have the explosion animation done as well but need a snake and a badger. So far everything is going pretty fast considering I have not used tho wacom at a desktop in a while as I had to reconfigure the tablet properties haha.

Since I had some work to take care of this compo’s time has been basically cut in half. It’s a simple enough mechanic that is should be done hopefully by tomorrow morningish. Another point whore game here I come! I was going to bike down to the studio and camp out there till it was done, but it has been raining all day and I don’t want to bring the wacom out in the rain to play.  So I might do my art work at home before I hop down there to code.

Here is my never before seen the light of day game frame work. It’s still a work in progress and there is no current documentation.

I will be coding in AS3 via flash builder. I don’t have an idea yet, so I’m not 100% on what the other tools will be used at this point.

I thought it was a bit douchey looking  to use my company name as my screen name, so I changed it.
