So far so good, we agreed on an idea of two connected worlds in which you also control different characters. The characters have different properties like movement speed or jump force, they also have different equipment like a gun or a jet pack.

The plan is to present the player (hopefully you) with puzzles you can only solve in one of the worlds, the solution will then be transported over to both worlds so both of your characters can advance.

This will be my second time participating this time for the Jam together with my brother Bastinator.

Last time I wrote a web (canvas based) game from scratch in JavaScript. For the upcoming LD we will be using Unity.

Running out of time!

My Idea for “Beneath the Surface” is to make a Dungeon Crawler. When I say crawler I mean it, in my game you become a Bug (which I’m sure my Code is full of).

Right now I don’t have the game state up and running, to get a new Level you need to reload. I’m going back to it now and see if I can get at least advancing to the next Level ready.

The current state: http://ld29.phpublic.de/ (tested in Google Chrome)

This will be my first dare, feeling kind of rusty in the game development area and I want to refresh my knowledge.

I’ll be using JavaScript and the Canvas Tag to get a simple game going for LD 29.
