I’m in! This will be my second Ludum Dare, my first having been LD28 last December.

In LD28, I used PuzzleScript and BeepBox to make The Initiate’s Spell, but I wasn’t able to get the two tools hooked up to each other in time, so you had to load the background music in a separate browser tab to get the intended game experience.

Yesterday I finally got around to doing a little hack of the PuzzleScript engine to let me play a BeepBox tune in the background, so The Initiate’s Spell is now playable with the music integrated, here. I’m debating whether to make some other changes to it and have a proper (albeit very late) post-jam version, but this certainly won’t happen before LD30 starts tonight.

Anyway, I’m not sure whether I’ll be doing the 48-hour compo or the 72-hour jam this time around. Mostly it depends how complete my game is as we near the 48-hour deadline (last time I ended up doing the jam and it seems pretty likely this will happen again). But I’ll definitely be making another PuzzleScript game with BeepBox music. I haven’t messed with PuzzleScript since before it got a big update a few months ago, so I’m excited to get to work with it again and use the new features.

This weekend should be a lot of fun! Good luck everybody!
