For SOS’s low-level miniLD I was working on a small compiler in javascript, with the intention of writing an interpreter in C. However, I didn’t get that far. HOWEVER I did make a game engine, that people are actually using 😀
Thanks, sos! :]

“post compo” build here, added an epilogue section.
Ludum dare 22 is almost upon us (16th->19th December), and once again we’ll be hosting a gathering at CB2 Bistro in Cambridge, UK. There’s food, drink, and plenty of space for laptops. Come and join us!
We can have up to 2 people stay over at our place, if someone wants to come visit for it. Just let me know – first come first served. Other than that, there’s a hostel.
So, who’s coming?
I started on something, but it wasn’t going anywhere, and I ended up getting sucked back to my older project, which is driving me mental and I want to get finished asap. Might give another try on tuesday : P
Look forward to playing all of the other entries tomorrowwww (and throughout the week as they may come in).
(also, big thanks to whoever modified the sticky post to link to submission stuff : D . I LOVE YOU MY SECRET ASSISTANT )
October is going to some sort of special challenge month, so let’s celebrate Ludum Dare Halloween a bit early.
The theme is HORROR. Not “interpret the word however you want”, but “try to make something that will genuinely creep people out/horrify them”.
Technically 17th-18th, but this isn’t strict. Start whenever you want, and finish 48 hours later, or take a little longer if you want (Submissions officially close on the 25th, say). Work alone or in a group, use preexisting media/code if you want, or whatever.

And, have fun!
I can’t find the list on the wiki at all, I think I’m next to host. I think the host list is down. Let’s say the weekend of the 17th.
I have no idea what it’ll be yet.
COME ALONG it’ll be a laff

I was pretty happy with how things went over the weekend, however I did do a number of bugfixes in the days since then (a game-breaking lightbeam glitch, added ‘up’ as jump, changed the position of a couple of blocks to remove some shortcuts, and changed the circumstances under which a particular help message would appear), and I had just thrown them up in the same place. I felt VERY BAD about that today, so I went and managed to find a copy of the sunday night version and put that up as a download as well, with the web one marked as a ‘bugfix’ version.
So, if you want the true, authentic, 48 hour experience, then go to that one
Bah. My game is crashing for samel on OSX, but the comments system for entry pages is a bit … unwieldy for communication purposes. If someone on OSX can get my game to crash, I’d appreciate if you could
1: launch the ‘console’ application and let me know if you see anything there relating to the program (ideally paste the results in the comment to this)
2: let me know what version of OSX you’re using (I only aim for intel osx 10.5+ , so if samel’s crash was on PPC or 10.4, and other people can get it to work, I guess I’ll just relax and forget about it )
Probably a linking thingy, but I don’t know. I used a completely new setup for building this version, so amn’t sure what might be going wrong exactly.
Statement of intent. I’ve been lazy with my ludumdaring recently. But not this weeeekend. Oh no. I’m in this weekend.
Going to try and do something networked and in flash, I think.
started on some graphics late last night. a tiny thing, so hopefully will have it finished before long
done, finally this evening was all about fixing a single bug. i took saturday evening off. anyway; i’m counting it as 48 hours.
Windows (1MB)
OSX 10.5+ (Intel)(2MB)

EDIT: the previous version had nasty assert in it that caused it to crash at some generations. new version fixes this bug, tweaked the algorithm significantly, and, maybe most importantly, fixed the fact that it was outputting the wrong notes ;p
just have to fix a few nasty bugs that suddenly appearedgrrrr
