Despite a few delays and setbacks, I’m happy with the result.  I find I love sprite work more than anything.

This will be my second go, the last one being LD31.  Looking forward to it.

I will be most likely using the same tools as last time.

Javascript/HTML5
Phaser

Other free tools for the Mac.

Rating games is actually harder than I thought

After the work I put into mine and knowing what’s involved, I have a really hard time giving out lower scores. I mean, 48/72 hours and you put together something that works and truly unique. That gives you stars in my book regardless of it’s content.

Well, at least as done as it’s going to get.  My first time and I managed to complete it.  Regardless of how the game gets brutalized by the judges, I think it turned out ok.

I think I have some semblance of a working game.  Not a good game, but well, wasn’t expecting much. Added a cat at the request of my wife, which I think turned out to be a good idea.  Adds another gameplay option.

I just hope I can pull it to something worth looking at within the next 15 hours.

It could use more polish, but, can’t afford to spend any more time on it. First time doing frame by frame drawing in piskel.

My guy can move and throw a ball (with gravity and collision).

Also featuring crappy tilemap background made in about 2 mins.

Going to get some sleep and try see if I can marathon this thing to a somewhat finished state.

Scaling back

3AM, abandoning idea of picking up objects and using them.. going with a more conservative approach of “It’s in your inventory already, just select it and throw it using key”.

This is hard.

I did make this little guy.

This is my first time, and I have no idea what to really expect.

Going solo and doing this in Javascript with Phaser.js as my weapon of choice.
Whatever I end up with, it  will not be some fancy pants 3D work of art.

Other tools:

Sublime
Tiled
Pixelmatorand Coffee

For sound, I’ll probably use sfxr if I have time for it.
