A few thoughts on the pseudo-completion of my game, ‘I THINK IN A MINUTE OR SO I WILL EXPLODE.’

Climban gaems

It was a bit of a mess, all told. I spent almost all the time getting the switching mechanic to work properly. I always forget that swapping two states requires a break, or else it’ll just loop and loop back. Silly little mistakes.

I missed out on the chance to add sound, and decent menus. But the extended submission period did give me a chance to patch some bugs andfix the non-functional difficulty curve.

All in all, I’m happy to have gotten it done, and I hope everyone gives it a go. And I think I have an idea of where I’m going with it if I want to polish it up. Getting it done wasn’t as cathartic as I expected, but I guess it’s because it’s not really done yet.

There’s always more to do.

Seeing as there’s nothing else to do, I’m throwing my hat into the ring, but I’m only doing my game during boring work hours, today 8 tomorrow 5.

Got an idea already!

The game will be named after a song I love: “I THINK IN A MINUTE OR SO I WILL EXPLODE“.

Well This Is An Embarrassment

Hangedman: Well, no, no, don’t take that wrong. I’m not done. Not giving up. Maybe giving out.

<Laughter offscreen>

Hangedman: I built the main game structure in an hour and a half last night, but then sleep all night and work all day has cost me a remarkable amount of time. But the game is practically playable. A few graphics here, a few arrays there, a bit of panicked music <Chuckles offscreen> and we’ll give it a go.

Hangedman: But I will persevere, even if I have to sacrifice my personal life to do it. What little there is.

<Laughter offscreen>

Hangedman: Keep on truckin’, all you great people being greatly sleep-deprived in your great time zones. I’ll give you a bit more music to carry on. It’s the incomparable Parov Stelar, with the kickin’ Libella Swing. Hope you like it.

Hangedman: We have a nice evening. Thanks for coming out. I’m sure it’s going to be lots of fun and most of you are going to be very disoriented towards the end. We can only hope.

Hangedman:I’m here to ramble a bit about my game to get my thoughts in line, while I still have two thoughts to rub together.

Hangedman: My idea was originally for Non-Euclidean Geometry, but works excellently for this theme.

Hangedman: It involves a kid, the dark, and a hell of a lot of opening and closing a door. You’ll see. At least, I hope you will.

<Laughter offscreen>

Hangedman: Best of luck to everyone, and I’m going to leave you with a bit of music. Yes, it’s Grammatik, with the sublime, “Stairway To Hip-Hop Heaven“. Hope you like it.
