I’m done… sort of

Well, I’ve basicly run out of time. I really have to do some other stuff again now, so it’s a bit rough, but I hope it’s at least enjoyable.

Here’s the ludum dare page: http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-37/?action=preview&uid=21430

And here’s a direct link to the itch.io page: https://roel.itch.io/trapped

It’s currently not mobile-friendly, so I recommend you use a desktop or laptop (I might still fix it later).

Good luck to everyone still working!

Some progress

Unfortunately, I don’t have much time to work on something this weekend, but I still decided to make something. Because of the (extra) time-constaint, I decided to make a sometimes-graphical text adventure game:

There’s still a lot to do, but at least I’ve got the basic structure for the game down, and I sort of know in which direction the story will be heading, so I should be able to finish it.

Good luck, everyone!

Help me! I’m getting attacked by wolves!

So I’m not making too much progress and I’m afraid it might not be fun to play, but it’s too late to turn back now. With a bit of luck I’ll at least be able to finish it. Hope you guys are doing better…

Best luck everybody!

I’ll be in again and I’ll be using my Java/Lua framework to make the game (link). I also might try out the Figure app for making music this time, although I’m not really sure whether you’re allowed to do everything with the music created within the app.

Anyway, good luck everyone!

I guess I’m done?

I guess I’m done? There’s still some time left, but I don’t think I’ll make any changes anymore. This was quite an interesting LD project. I’ve never done anything like this (I might actually write some sort of post-mortem this time). You play as a tree, who’s defending himself against lumberjacks. You can download my game here.

Well, it’s not a lot of progress. I did get the basic mechanics down. You’re a growing tree defending itself against (blocky) lumberjacks. The game’s kinda neat though. It’s very different from the games I’ve made before. Still need to add music, sound effects, more enemies and an intro and outro. Hopefully I’ll be able to finish it tomorrow.

Good luck everyone!

I’ll be participating again this time. Here’s my framework.

First Day

Epic Battle

I managed to get most of my core mechanics done today. I still need to make all the levels, add sound and make some sort of intro and outro bit to tell the silly story I made. I’m quite happy with how it’s been going so far. Not sure how I’ll make the music though. I want to try something new, but I’ve never worked with any other tools besides Garageband, so that’ll be interesting. Anyway, have fun everyone with the next 24/48 hours!

Hello everyone! I’ll be participating again this time. Here are my tools:

IDE: Eclipse and Sublime Text
Engine: rGine2 (personal engine, source is available here)
Graphics: Paint.NET and/or Inkscape
Sound: Probably an sfx generator
Music: Probably Garageband, altough I might try some music generators
Ideas: Idea Flip

I’m excited to be able to enter again. Have fun everyone!

It’s starting to take shape!

LD30_1Mygame’s sort of fun now (except for the lack of levels). Basicly, he player was born with a special ability. He/she could move out of his/her body into the Shadow World. Using this you can influence you’re surroundings. One day, the government finds out and they send people to your house to imprison you. You must use your powers to escape from them. You can’t attack anybody, so you can’t be seen. You can do this by sneaking around them, or using your powers to attract the guards and then sneak past.

Last weekend before school starts, so I still have time to build something (hopefully) awesome!

Here are my tools (pretty much the same as last time, but still)

Engine: As always my custom framework. (I should really clean it up and put it on Github…)
Language: Lua/Java
IDE: Eclipse for Java, Sublime Text for Lua
Art“: Paint.net and/or blender
sfx: Possibly my Nexus 5 as micrhophone to record some sounds myself, but I might just end up using an sfx generator
Music: Garageband
Planning: Idea Sketch
Timelapse???: Chronolapse

He might be stuck underground, but at least he’s accompanied by a the cube.

Above the surface

And beneath the surface

Basicly the blue guy must help the yellow guy escape from beneath the surface. I didn’t get a lot of it done. Only switching between the two players and buttons and doors, since I ran into an issue in my shadow mapping code, so I’ll have to hurry up and make levels, enemies and add sound. At least so far this one’s looking better than my last two entries.

Almost forgot!

I still needed to upload my framework! Anyway, here it is. It’s probably not usefull yet to other people, as I haven’t written any tutorials and there’s still a lot of stuff I’m working on, but it’s what I’m gonna use.

Let’s do this!

Had to skip LD28, but I’m certainly gonna be in for LD29 (compo)!

I’m also working on a lot of stuff for my Lua game framework. Hopefully I’ll get better Bullet integration done before it starts (and maybe even SSAO)!

Anyway, here’s the stuff I’ll be using:

Engine/framework/thing: rGine (my Lua game framework)
Language: Lua/Java
IDE: Sublime text 3/Eclipse
Graphics: Paint.net
Sound: Dunno
Music: Garageband for iPad

Have fun!

Am I in?

I have a lot of tests next week so I’m not really gonna be able to make a game. I might try something though. Anyway, here are the tools I might use:

IDE: Eclipse and Sublime Text/Notepad++
Library: My Java/Lua game framework. (If I submit my game, here’s the source)
Language: Java and Lua
Gfx: paint.net
Sound: Garageband
