Go get you some twin-stick arcade style shmup action!!!

Play as a rogue wanderer, with a mystical gun capable of absorbing lost souls for ammunition.

Stop the creatures from another realm from capturing enough souls to grow to their true forms!

I am stoked about how this game is looking. the screenshot is just the starting area. but the level itself is a very good size. All of the mechanics are in place except for the enemy spawner which I will write when I get me a little rest. I am a bit worn out after Tiled decided it wanted to crash 1000 times and one time lost the entire level, finally got it made though. Hopefully I have time before the Jam ends to squeeze in a little bit more detail, but either way I am happy with it.

Next up:

Polish/Balance

AUDIO! which should be the icing on the cake for my favorite creation.

Sigh, Night #1

Well, after spending most of the night trying to get mechanim to let me animate part of our protagonist’s skeleton AND rotate it with code, I decided to scrap that and work around the limitation. BUT, something wonderful happened. When i decided to create the animation without the rotations, it turned into a really awesome 3D feeling sprite. If i have time tomorrow ill take a GIF of it.

 

Unfortunately i lost some time due to that, but on the bright side, the tile sheet for the level is almost done, and the player character is fully animated and ready to explore different worlds, and the backbone of the entire mechanic is already in place.

 

Hope everyone else is enjoying their #LD30 so far.

You heard me! Its jam time.

Pumph0use – programming, smoking lots of cigarettes, not so epicly bearded.

Gloom – Pixel Artist, and musician, epicly bearded.

We are ready to rock, one of us is a first timer, the other is not.

Engine: Unity2D

Editor: Monodevelop

MapEditor: Tiled

Utilities: Tiled2Unity, cInput2

Graphics: Pyxel? Not sure, I’m mobile can’t remember the name, its on Mac.

Language: C# of course.

I’ll attempt to build it for every platform, but I don’t have a Linux box to test on currently. So I apologize if the Linux build breaks.
