Listen and Shift: Playthrough

6th participation and 6th game. And first time seeing someone mastering my game at that point! Even my last personal best is just above the 1,600,000 mark. However, I decided to record a playthrough of one of the best possible run of my game. Here it is! Will you be able to beat the 3,377,154 points?

Take a break and try a run! Give your best and try to break the mark!
(And leave a comment, so that I can play your game as well!)

Take a break and try a run! Give your best and try to break the new record: 1,815,880! Pretty high mark, but not impossible!

6th participation and 6th game. I managed to find an original idea on the “Shapeshift” theme and really happy with what I came with. First time I really took the time to compose the music, and the result is pretty satisfying!

Take a break and try a run! Give your best and try to pass the 1,000,000 mark!

I’m in, for my fifth Ludum Dare in a row! However, I will be limited in time (same reason as a year ago!).

I will use “EasyLD”, a framework layer on Drystal (lua game engine) and Love2D (lua game engine).
Paint.net, Gimp, SFX and other stuffs like my beautiful voice will be usefull as well!

Goals: Fun and out of the box game!

Time to get some sleep!

23h30 non stop of programing, with some pizzas, chips and coca. (Umaru-chan, please notice me :>)
The result, some good graphics at last, remains the Heros graphics.
Tomorrow will be the time for the sound, voices, musics, level design hopefully! Hope I will be able to add the last mechanic as well.

Nap of 3h30 no more! See you later! :) Brave yourself and have fun!

After 16h30 of programing, the core are here.

Nano VS Bot – Timelapse

Hello everyone,

This is my timelapse of Nano VS Bot.
I was running out of time since the end of the LD 32. So I didn’t have the time to post my timelapse of my entry for LD32. This is now uploaded and available on my youtube channel :

Following this timelapse, I will post a post-mortem in 3 or 4 days I think. I learned a lot again during this third LD participation, and this time, my game was really better than the first two. That’s why I have a lot of things to say. But I am currently moving to Japan next week, so my time is limited! I will try to post it by the end of the week.

Hope you like the video, and see you soon for my post-mortem!

The first day comes to a close! Let’s rest a little bit!

Third entry, but this one sounds the best I have made. A lot of thing are way better than my two other LD games. I’ve done the mechanical part of the game. Some levels now and fancy stuffs like graphics. I have a lot of idea for my future levels! I hope I will be able to put all of them in it!

Only one thing is missing : Sounds & Music. And for this game, I need something epic enough. Therefore, first : to finish the last remaining stuffs (bonus and sprites) and I will go for the sounds effects. Thus the levels and the musics!

(A short video about the part I was working on just an hour ago)

See you in less than 6 hours! Happy Ludum Dare 32! (Have a good “night”)

Good things come in threes : Third participation!

Hello there, it has been a few month since the last LD!
And these months were not without any work. More than that, not without a work related to LD. In fact, I’ve developed a framework to help me (at first and others in a close future) program a game as quickly and easily as possible.

So, let’s introduce what I will use for the LD32 :

Framework : EasyLD (In development : https://github.com/Goutye/EasyLD ) (Compatibility : Löve2D & Drystal)
Game Engine : Drystal ( https://drystal.github.io )  (Lua game engine)
Sound effet : SFX and my beautiful voice
Music : a mix between some known software and own compositions (A song with my voice like the last one? Ahah)
Graphics : Paint.net, Gimp, Crayon & paper

For EasyLD, the project is not really finished. I need to test the framework with a game, as deeply as possible and see what is missing in EasyLD.
Consider it a beta version.

For Drystal, it’s a game engine developed by a friend named kidanger. He made some games with it ( http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-30/?action=preview&uid=15611 for example ). The best thing in Drystal is the way to make your game avaiable online via JS, and automatically. (Love2D is limited to windows/linux/mac release. No web release is possible)
That’s why I am using it, but not only for that. Drystal is magic 😮

Then, see you soon for my third participation in Ludum Dare!

I am in, snowmen.

I… Ok. The theme will be something related to snowman. Joke.

(-1) Snowman \o/

My goal this time will be more polished than the last LD. I want to make a short game, less complicated with less features. I want to develop and improve a main feature before I try to add other features. The problem for my last participation was I had many features. Those were good, but not fun enough. So my game was not really fun. But if I focus one feature per feature and improve it, that will be better.

So, my game will be short, fun and easy to understand. My time, this time, is shorter than 48h because of exams on Monday. I hope I will be able to complete  it and pass my exams too :X

Game engine : Love2D (lua)
This game will be available on MAC, Linux and Windows. Maybe a web version if I have the time to develop it quickly. (Before Christmas!).
Brace yourself, snowmen!

First LD done! Too ambitious, but it works!

My first LD was a succes ! I made a game only with my fingers (using love2D game engine).
Only 5h of sleeping, because I knew that my game was too ambitious. The storyline is almost full.
So I ‘m happy.

LD30 submission

The difficulty is a little bit too high, even for the EASY version. I was out of time to equilibrate totally this game (Management/Fight). Next time, I will try to create a shorter game if it’s possible because this game is, may be,  too complicated to understand for a beginner.

I learned a lot anyway! I hope you’ll try my game, even though you don’t like it!

Thanks !

Let’s go to dream a little bit…

This first day was really exciting. Many functionnalities added during this day. Almost all. That’s why I’m confident to end this LD with a game !
I hope this game will be a good game. It can be really cool but It depends on the balancing.

End of Day One !

Shader, Light, drawing was for today ! Tomorrow, let’s go to write a story, a tutoriel, the end game and I hope, a bonus if I’ve time ! My plan is ready ! Let’s go to bed !
