But I have an idea for next Ludum Dare or project: mix between 4x game and card game!

My idea is to remove micro management and let player use cards to explore a sector, colonize a system, steal tecnology and so on.

Like every LudumDare it’s a nice experience I really like to share with everybody excitement to be part of so great experience. My game is not important, our efforts, together are important!

Hello everyone!

For this LD I’m working on a small game, just keep it simple (really!)

As you can see, player control a growing-space station, fighting some strange enemies and become bigger. Player have to understand how much grow and if he/she wants become littler

Things to do: balance, balance, balance, more attacks and more enemies!

Cities have heroes fighting for it

Cthulhu is alone, but with an healthbar and chaos orbs.. will destroy the city and kill all the heroes?

Cthulhu in all of his/her glory near some cities, before spreading chaos!

Quick update:

– basic movement: done,
– loading maps: done,
– basic tile and cthulhu anim: done,
– collision check:  done,
– cthulhu firing chaos orb: done

Now cities need to spawn heroes before will be too late!

In particular:

What went wrong
– from first comments, game could be frustrating after first teleporter, because you have to do a double jump in mid-air to reach a platform
– graphics is not so coold: I’ve planned to add a light effect, because all game is a kind of nightmare for a boy, but have no time for this
– flashdevelop: I didn’t setup it correctly so debug wasn’t working. So waste of time.. argh!

In my timezone is 22 right now, so first thing to do is go to sleep 😀

I don’t know what kind of library I will use so I’ve decided to use:

– trystan’s AsciiPanel if I will do a roguelike

Flashpunk  and related sub-libraries, in particular MicroRPG  and Advanced Platformer Engine

MarteEngine, a library I’ve developed on top of slick

For sound effects immortal as as3sfxr and of made graphics my trusted Gimp

 

First thing to do tomorrow: read theme, THINK before do anything and find a nice concept and more, more important, be in 48 hours!

I love Ludum dare and I’d like to enter with a roguelike game, made with Java, Eclipse and AsciiPanel (https://github.com/trystan/AsciiPanel).

I have a small code base, following my tutorial (see my blog http://randomtower.blogspot.it/search/label/rougelike%20tutorial) and no graphics, obviously.
