So yeah, popped my LD cherry I guess. Overall, it was a really fun experience, especially designing a map for my game, I might look into level design and enviromental art a bit more after this.

I was kind of dumbfounded first. I didn’t really wanted to do a cliché game about the player becoming the thing he fights against, so I decided to go with the literal interpretation. After some pondering, my pun loving self decided to make a game about a monster skateboarder. The code of the game got done relatively fast, and although it gets the job done, I’m really unhappy about the movement in my game.

The next big thing was the graphics, I kinda had a look in my head, I visioned Jet Set Radio but with purple. Since I’m not really good with graphics things (yet), I decided to keep it as low poly as possible, while going to a messy hand-painted look with the textures, and although I could spend a forever improving it and putting more objects and life into it, I kinda like it how the look of the game turned out.

I enjoyed this LD, it was a really fun experience, and I played a lot of fun games as well. My recommendation for hipsters is Midnight Bootleg, my recommendation for weebs is Hitogotchi, and for everyone else: Delicious Cortex.

I’ve heard Voltaire drank 60 cups of coffee a day, I think I can do twice as much.

I’m in!
