I’ve arrived at the Hackathon where I would be doing most of my work, and
no one is there..
I’m just going to wait for a while, and see if anyone shows… If no one shows for a while, I’ll just head home. Its also in a bar which is very unexpected… I dont know if anyone could sleep here…
.
This is my first ever Ludum Dare and I am so excited. I’m going to the hackathon in boston so I will have a place to focus. I’ve collected my tools and took a look at the list of possible themes. Looks like its going to be connected worlds. Here is a list of the top themes.
- Connected Worlds (+835)
- Day And Night (+287)
- Don’t Stop Moving (+247)
- Break The Rules (+142)
- Isolation (+141)
- Destroy The System (+115)
- Do No Harm (+102)
- You’re Not Supposed To Be Here (+96)
- Growing (+95)
- Choose A Path (+85)
I read this on reddit so I’m not sure if its true, but if it is, I love the Connected Worlds theme.
Im not 100% sure what language/engine/librarys I am going to use. I know Unity, Python, LWJGL, LibGDX, and HTML5 so I have a few to choose from. Most likely I will use Javascript/HTML5 with no Librarys except one I wrote to display tilemaps. Here are a list of tools I will most likely use:
- Sublime Text 3 (Text Editor)
- Bfxr (Sound effects generator)
- Paint 2 (drawing sprites)
- Tiled (Creating the tilemap) <– depends on the game but most of mine use tilemaps
No matter what, my game is going to be playable on the web. I want it to be easy to try out and easy to share. I’m not sure where to upload my game because I dont have my own site…
