For the last couple of hours I worked on the level for my game. After taking a break I looked at it and somehow.. it looks.. like something, like a guy with a gun or something.. Do I hallucinate? Weird…

For the last couple of hours I worked on the level for my game. After taking a break I looked at it and somehow.. it looks.. like something, like a guy with a gun or something.. Do I hallucinate? Weird…
Forgot to post that I’m in but here we go. Using GameMaker, GIMP and bfxr for sounds. The first day went qute well and the basic gameplay is nearly completed. Now I will work on the Levels, Graphics, Objects, Sound and UI.
Here is a little GIF, which shows one of the main features of the game.
I’m in for the fourth time. It is just fun to see a hole game come alive in only two days.
I will do the compo and will again use game maker as the engine. I will also use gimp and sfxr. As for the music I don’t know yet, if and how I will do it. Any suggestions for an absolute beginner?
Third time participating on Ludum Dare compo. I will use the following:
- GameMaker
- Gimp
- Bfxr
So let’s hope for a good theme and many creative and fun games to play.
Post Compo – Sword In A Mirror
Have you tried Sword In A Mirror yet? If not, you can play and rate the Compo Version. Based on the feedback and the things I didn’t get finished during the Compo, I created a Post Compo Version.
What is new?
- 2 extra challenging new levels
- Controls are less floaty and more precise
- Sword mechanics feel better and are less buggy
- Minor changes on the old levels for more fun
- Improoved background graphics and particles
- More sound effects and a new music track
- Less bugs
New Version of Cobot (Now with normal and hardcore mode)
In the new version of Cobot you can now choose between “Normal Mode” and “Hardcore Mode”. In “Normal Mode” there are checkpoints, in “Hardcore Mode” there are none.
In addition I improoved the controls and the physics, so the gameplay feels better and is a bit easier.
Controls: Move: arrow keys, Jump: y or z, Exit: Escape
This is my very first Ludum Dare and I’m fairly new to game development. I hope I will finish a game in time. For making the game I will use the following:
Programming: LibGDX
Graphics: Gimp
Sound: Sfxr, sunvox
