Walks are good way to clear your mind. I often get good ideas during a good walk, and oxygen for the brain is good, too!

@Takorii and I made lots of progress today, the engine is slowly coming together, collision, camera, rendering optimizations and such are in place. Tomorrow it’s time to turn it into more of a game than an engine (we got a cool idea for gameplay already :D)

This is the protagonist:

Artist and I were playing the current build of game, and we both managed to send a pic of us getting stuck in between two collision objects ar around the same time, haha. What a coincidence.

Nice progress here, the game is smooth, and I’m implenting, implementing, implementing while artist is asleep.

Our game idea has pretty much come together, and we’re just working on it now. Basically internal systems being coded, and my partner (@Takorii) doing animations. Fun fact: We were actually hoping for Minimalism. 😀

I made a gameplay video (this is the post-mortem version, but the only difference from post-mortem is music and menu icons in top right corner, and a few small fixes. Gameplay is the same.) of my game Space Ham, which you can play and rate here. It takes a while for the action to pick up, as you can see in the video, but once it does, it’s a game about surviving from being eaten by your own clones. The more ham you eat, the more clones you spawn, and eating ham is essential to get a good score, so the game has a nice feedback loop where you’re in control of how fast the game will evolve, and how hard it will get. Enjoy.

I AM DONE.

I started this morning at around 9-10 am, and I’m now finished at 25 minutes past midnight :p Hooray. Maybe I should use both days next time…lol. Atleast I’m very happy with the result this time compared to my first LD! :)

The game is about a ham that eats smaller slices of hams, and every time he does that he gains some DNA. There comes a point where the little guy can’t hold in all the DNA anymore, and he clones himself (which I called meiosis in the game :p) but the clones are not friendly or cooperative, they’re hungry for more than small slices, they want to eat you! It’s an arcade game about survival of the fittest (or fastest), and getting the highest score (duh) 😀
