About fullmontis (twitter: @fullmontis)

Hi, I'm Andrea. I like to tell stories, write, draw, make movies, and, of course, develop games. I started in game development for the Ludum Dare competition in 2013 after not programming anything for almost 10 years.

I love games with weird and unsettling locations and interesting characters to interact with. I also try to design games that are challenging and unique in the mechanics. I always twist any genre to make something unique. Most of the time it doesn't work, but rarely something cool comes out.

I will be using my simple HTML5 framework that I’ve been using for the last few compos: https://github.com/fullmontis/magic

I will be making all the music and graphics by myself.

I expect to do a mess and have a lot of fun.

The game will be available on my itch page when finished: https://fullmontis.itch.io/

Good luck everyone

Can’t wait to start and do something this weekend!

I will use Emacs as an editor, pinta for sprites, audacity and jfxr for audio and music. I will use my framework for html5, magic, which you can find here.

And that’s about it. Hope this will be a fun weekend and that everything will be fine on the new website.

In the meantime, you could take a look at my itch page, if you want.

So this is it…

A Soul of Clay is an escape the room style game (with a twist!). You are a clay golem who just came into being and can shape his hands like the tools that surround him.

I was finally able to finish this game. I can say this is the most ambitious game I’ve made so far in a Ludum Dare and actually finished. It is not perfect, far from it, but it is still a fun game an I think you should check it out.

As usual, I failed to enter inside the 48h time limit, so my game will probably end up in the Jam (unless I seriously screw up tomorrow).

Gameplay is done but I still need to make cleaner graphics and add dialogue, so it will me take an handful of hours more.

I am in!

Very excited that another ludum dare is behind the corner. This is always exciting and can’t wait to start creating something

My tools  of the trade:

  • Editor: Emacs
  • Engine/Framework: HTML5/js with my custom framework
  • Image manipulation: paint.net
  • Audio/music: audacity

as you can see, I want to keep it simple this time around cause I want to get some sleep in first of all, and also because I hope for once to get it right with the scope of my game.

That is all for now. See you in the compo!

After a programmer’s hour at 3 AM in the morning full of adrenaline and tiredness, I was able to submit The Seed of Love, my Jam entry for LD #34.

The Seed of Love

Now, after 4 hours of sleep, I can think straight enough to fix a couple of bugs that I left in the build and make a post annouincing the game!

The game is a Ren’Py visual novel. The structure is very simple: just read the story, make choices and see which ending you get. I tried to make a story worth reading. I like it, and I hope you like it too.

Hope you will give it a try.

I wanted to thank everyone for the wonderful time this weekend. Despite the tiredness, LD is always a momnet of joy. I am really curious to try out your games now :)

In for LD34!

I am really happy it is finally time for a new Ludum Dare. Always look forward to make time in these weekends!

I am really charged for this weekend. Want to develop something and I feel inspired. Let’s see what comes of it.

  • Language: JS with HTML5. I am going to use the usual Magic Library I’ve been putting together across the last few LDs.
  • IDE: Emacs
  • Art: Paint.NET, mypaint, Inkscape, my hands if I want to do some quick drawings offline
  • Sound/Music: Audacity, and a mic. Maybe my old synth if I am feeling fancy

A few reminders to myself before making a mess of it as usual:

  • Pick one idea and stick to it until the end.
  • Make a game that can be done in hours, not days. The smaller the scope, the better.
  • Focus on the core mechanics first, anything else later.

As a closing note, check out my game page over at itch.io. Let em know what you think, I would really appreciate it.

And that’s it. See you this weekend.
