Not sure how much time I have to dedicate for this one–but yeah.

Unity3D all the way. Probably using the new Unity2D stuff.

Ten Seconds of Thrust Post Compo – AKA DEATH OF A SPACEMAN

Here’s my first attempt at a post-compo version of Ten Seconds of thrust, AKA Death of a Spaceman.  Play it here.

You can check out the LD48 entry here.

New features:

* New levels: Vertical, Horizontal, and Maze levels.

* Enemies and obstacles! Mines, seekers, and laser gates!

This is totally untested and needs a lot of tweaks and additions, but I’m thinking of polishing this up a bit and tossing it on Kongregate or something.

I’m working on a post compo version.  Until then you can check out Ten Seconds of Thrust on its LD48 page here

Also, earlier in the week I posted a few thoughts about my LD48 experience.  You can read them here.

Here’s a video I put up of my LD27 / LD48 entry, Ten Seconds of Thrust.

You can play it here: bit.ly/14wot3t

Anyone know how to capture the sound from a screen recording in Quicktime on OSX?  I can’t for the life of me figure it out–all I can do is get it to record the microphone, which is not what I want.

Anyway–can you avoid being a SPACE FATALITY??!?!!?!?!

Post some comments on features you’d like, I’m going to make this into a full blown game over the next few months.

I think I’m done.

Yeah–well it’s not as polished as I’d like, but hey it’s a game.  And it involves ten seconds.

It’s kind of a Lunar Lander type game where you have only 10 seconds of thruster time.  But you can pick up little time capsules on the way down to give you more thruster time.

You have to land at a safe velocity on the bottom of the cavern–levels get progressively more difficult (less capsules, more obstacles).  Well actually, the difficulty flattens out after level 5.

Near the bottom!

Unity3D.  We’ll see how long I last subsisting on Coke Zero and programmer art.
