Hey Ludum! Our “Small World” game is here!

This was our 9th LudumDare. The theme was “Small World”, and we used a little island with hero home on it as a little world.

mLiY1dF-Srk.jpgIt’s an adventure during 7 days with to-do list for each day.

Have a nice play!

13 jellyfish – post-jam version

Posted by
Wednesday, December 21st, 2016 5:22 pm

Hello everyone!

After the Ludum we had a one week rest and decided to add a polished Post-jam version our game – “13 jellyfish”.

Thanks for all the feedback in comments, it was very helpful!

  • 1) At first we addede one more crew member – Lookout.

Actually we created him during the Ludum Dare, but we didn’t have time to add him =(

Player still was able to see him on both death-screens.

Player can use Lookout to see the upcoming events ahead.2

  • 2) We upgraded our path-line at the bottom of the screen.

Now player can see past events.

  •  3) Pieces of wood fly out when the ship takes damage.

скала возвращение

  • 4) Add new visuals for the storm – flashes of light and less brightness, also more events are occuring during the storm.

  • 5) More warnings for obtaning/spending food

  • 5) Added “Loading” screen, and adapted team logo with game-style (in windows desktop version)

  • 6) Other tiny things, such as bug fixes and work on the gameplay balance

Hello, soon results of Ludum Dare #35, I wish you all good luck and high results!

Game page – http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-35/?action=preview&uid=40789

I would like to little bit talk about music in our game,
due to the fact that we long decide what to do, we had very little time left
and in the end I had one day to do all of the music and sounds for Scrapmetalship

before that I had not to the space to do the music, and pick up right atmosphere were first time for me :з

I decided to divide music to:

1) arcade music for flight mode and fighting

42) and two relaxing space ambient for fly on the system map (they alternate on map for a variety : )1

3) also one for our death, victory and game intro3

it’s six in total!

they not big (exept main arcade theme), but I think few little track much cool for games, then one molesting track

it was most hard Ludum Dare for us, I hope you enjoy it :)

Hi fellows!

This is our sixth game on the Ludum Dare competition and, as it turned out, the most difficult to implement. We spent 50% of the time only for inventing original idea and to meet the deadline was extremely problematic :)
We’ve uploaded the post-version. Fixed a variety of both graphical and gameplay bugs.
Also now the Web version of the game is available (with possible sound problems, maybe).
Enjoy :)

Almost every Ludum Dare we’re spending the first day arguing about the game idea… And this time was not an exception.
First idea was about little toy growing in the water, which you have to observe one hour in real time hoping something will happen (sort of arthouse game), but it seemed a bit unplayable and we’ve put it aside.
Second one was a bit better: nuclear wasteland and little sprout which is taken care of by little clumzy robot on the tracks. But the game seemed a bit complex in terms of graphics and we would have to call it “Wall-e” to put everything in place.

And the third idea didn’t exist. So we had to think of something.

On the second day graphics and drafts of gameplay were born. Every team member had their business to do irl, which interfered in the development process.

And on the third day we’ve discovered that all the code should be made from scratch, graphics can’t be made as we’ve planned, and the gameplay wasn’t thought over really much… It was made during the process of the final polishing.

The only thing which was coming out smooth and without critical changes was music. Composer hit the spot.

Overall, every Ludum is a challenge for us, but that only makes it interesting.

From sketch to game – Monser Disco (part 1)

This is a post-mortem for our fourth LD Jam entry.
For LD#33 we made Monster Disco

At first we thought of making a regular monster game, just flying around eating people – sounds nice!
But then we thought of adding some rhythm elements, we were thinking it would give more dinamic to the game, also to be a creative feature, and that it would be just fun.

First sketch set direction for the entire development.

On this step we wanted to add some little monsters, for them to be our minions. And soldiers would have to fight with them, We even made the attack animation, but it has not been used in final game, we just did not have enough time for this. =\

Next sketch was more colorful and juicy.

7GJIP74FlSALittle monsters are still here. We’ll miss you, little goodfellas.
And also we were planning to add some skill line – the idea was that you filled a scale, and when you reach a certain point you can use some skill for massive destruction or something. But for that we also did not have time = \

In part two we’ll tell about program part and rhythmic animations!

Now we have web-version (Monster disco)
